GTi Mark 7 engine tuning and exhaust
Discussion
Hi,
Can anyone recommend somewhere either near Bedford / Milton Keynes / Leicester who can do engine tuning / mapping plus install Remus exhaust system for a M7 GTI.
Would also be interested in anyone's experience of tuning / mapping results.
The car is the 227bhp Performance Pack GTI, would like a few more horses but nothing stupid, about 260-270 ideally.
Cheers

Yes, looking at their site again it does refer only up to Mark 6 GTI's...
Anyone else recommended?
Edit to add:
Anyone had this done?

Not really but I guess it depends on your right foot, the power is certainly addictive though and having a dsg means you really have to keep an eye on the speedo
Im actually going to stage 3 soon as i've already purchased
IS38 turbo
Decat downpipe
Exhaust
Turbo intake pipe
panel filter
uprated dumpvalve
Roll on 400bhp+

I did email them a few weeks ago and Niki replied o say they don't offer mapping for these models as yet...
Which I found a tad odd as their site implied they did..
They wouldn't tune Mk7 GTI's yet, Niki may for close friends but they are only just moving on to MK6 TSI / ECU.Which I found a tad odd as their site implied they did..
I'd go to Revo or APR.
I did the development work for REVO for the SEAT Leon Cupra 280 (same engine as the Golf R)
I now run APR Stage2 with APR DSG software.
VRS Northampton are APR dealers and Will (the owner) is a very good guy. AKS Tuning in Oakley are REVO dealers and Alex the owner is also very good.
I'd personally get down to VRS in Northampton and test out the APR file.

Keep on top of the PCV valve maintenance. EA888s blow out the rear main seal easily if the PCV fails. Plastic junk unfortunately.Im actually going to stage 3 soon as i've already purchased

You sure your not talking about the old 2.0TFSI? as in the CDL engine, BWA etc.or even the TSI found in the MK6 ie the Gen 2 engines?
Not heard of any of the Gen 3 MQB cars having PCV issues and I've been running Stage2 on mine for nearly 2 years now.

I think Paul at Deutsche Autoparts explains it in this clip - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JF3O6ChxBv0 and is mentioned on this page - http://shopdap.com/rear-main-seal-failure-on-vw-an...
Both the EA113 and EA888s suffer from flaky PCV valves, and they've been revised by VW a number of times The later iterations do seem to be lasting longer with the boost turned up though.

You need to speak to Alex who owns AKS Tuning in Oakley, near Bedford.
AKS are a Revo dealer and Alex's attention to detail and work ethic is second to none. I had a Revo Stage 2 map on my MK6 GTi which has the same basic EA888 engine and I achieved 300bhp/350lbft - this was with a Turbo back exhaust with 200 CEL cat and intake. Transformed the car into something much more fun.
Good luck.
