Golf question (release date/mk8)
Discussion
Hey guys,
So, looking to get out of my current diesel car and go to a petrol. I've set my sights on the PH-love-hate Golf R. Now I'm going down the PCP route as after number crunching against the current lease deals, the spec I want comes out at £50 more a month with double mileage than a lease. Plus, come trade in time, that £50 a month will more likely be around the £10-15 mark.
Anyway, yawn.
I'm looking at ordering the car in January for a new plate delivery in March 2017. I think in the EU, the golf came out in 2012? Did the the current Golf R get launched in 2014? It's in the rumour mill than the mk8 golf will be launched in 2019 so if there's a trend of the 'performance golfs' being launched a year or two after the rest of the range, that would speculate the R in 2020-2021.
If I'm completely wrong or misinformed here, please do correct me as I think I'll look at leasing another car until the mk8 comes out as the residual of the mk7 R will obviously crash making the PCP route completely uneconomical.
Thanks for any input.
