Just waiting for my A4 to be delivered and have a question for the knowledgeable:

On the previous B8 platform cars fitting a bluetooth dongle such as the ViseeO WMA3000 allows full bluetooth streaming with iPhones. The new B9 platform cars have USB rather than the Audi specific connections fitted now, so I am assuming that all I need is the ViseeO WMA2000 dongle.

I can find loads on the WMA3000 and Audi MMI on the 'net and in forums (all for the B8 platforms) but nothing on the the B9 platform.

Any advice appreciated

Cheers

I thought the B9 had Bluetooth audio streaming standard fit? So you shouldn't need an extra dongle

It has voice (phone) but not media bluetooth connectivity apparently. You only get media when connected via USB cable. Seems a bit of an omission but there you go!

Not played with one yet but I'm guessing it's to do with promoting Smartphone interface (which is standard).

In my Leon and the wife's Golf both have apple car play but also bluetooth streaming of music, I'd be very surprised if the B9 i'm getting in November would have a backwards step of forcing you to plug in!

I would agree but.....

Take the iPhone 6..bluetooth streaming of media is only available with optional phone interface and then only with MMI Nav +. On non of the phones is bluetooth media streaming available unless you have the MMI+ (c. £2k option).

This thread suggests you do with limited functionality although it doesn't say if they have MMI+:

The Audi chap I asked on Saturday didn't know, well he said "yes of course" but when I specifically said phone and media or just phone I got "errrr...hmm, good one....don't know".

Anyway I get mine mid September so can report back if no one else chimes in.
