Whats a ROI sorry?
Return on investment - in other words, the 7th gear will save a bit of money but the outlay for you to go from a 2 year old S3 to a brand new one will far outweigh any savings.

theres not much else different tbh. Nav is slightly updated, you get 6hp extra.. not much else.

ahhh I see.

Fair enough. If it had been massively improved box then then maybe.

Her car is in for a service in a few weeks so ill try to take one out for a test drive then and see if its any different.

FYI - £325 on a 3+23 basis + broker fee. 3dr S-tronic, Daytona Grey, Folding Mirrors and Reverse Parking Sensors and inc maintenance.

From what I've seen, prices have gone up substantially and the S3 doesn't represent as good value as it did. I placed my order quite a while back now though, c. September if I remember correctly.

Looks like the prices have gone up a lot, my quote is without maintenance and not mettalic.

Many months on - are there any more owners on here now?

I like mine, apart from my one bug bear that the stereo (standard one) is complete rubbish and you can't listen to anything at more than half volume before it starts phasing in and out - anyone else experiencing the same?
Although I'm not too fussed about the stereo sound, the actual system is a nightmare. My phone sometimes isn't recognised unless I unplug and plug in a few times and I've also had issues where the screen freezes, rendering the whole thing useless.

Other than that, enjoying it, other than the paranoia of it being nicked (but hey, I've GAP for that). Heated seats are wonderful at this time of the year. In Sport & Eco, seems more responsive than the R I had, however, as mentioned by others, the start-stop can be an absolute nightmare.

Overall, I do miss the R somewhat and would have been happy to extend it for a further year if it wasn't at such a high additional cost! Will definitely be considering one again once my two years in the S3 is up.

Just put down a deposit a few weeks ago and got an email yesterday saying build was scheduled to start on 29th June. Which is a very long time away.

How likley is that to move forward? And typically how long does it take from build date to delivery date?

Do you have access to the tracker? If not, ask the broker to supply you with the required information (I had to use the finance company's details as that's what the order had linked, rather than my own).

Mine kept being pushed back, overall by three months from the original estimate!

I've just had confirmation from Select that my order has been accepted. Was told that Wednesday was the last day to get orders in, don't know if anyone else was told this. For reference I went for an S3 sportback s-tronic on 3 + 23 at £330 inc metallic and on 10k a year.
I'm looking at doing a personal lease of an S3 Sportback and the cheapest i can find is a std car for £335/month incl vat for a 9+23 at 10,000mls/yr.

There are some very low prices being quoted on here, see above, so either they are not quoting prices with vat included or i'm missing something??
Where are you finding that quote?

For anyone who has one, are there any upgrades that are 'essential'?

B&O upgrade?
Better leather seats?
Virtual cockpit?

Any others?

I think the cockpit thing is a bit of a gimmick, no experience of the seats but the standard ones are not bad, and the "leather" softens a bit after a few thousand miles.

If I was redoing the process I would go for the B&O without a doubt, the standard system is laughably bad in my opinion, so bad in fact I think I will take mine to the dealers in a week or so to check its not actually broken.

I have done 4000 miles and my 'leather' has not softened in the slightest. Standard headunit sounds pretty decent imo. Sure, it's not gonna shatter any windows but quality wise i think its ok - you've got the sub in the boot yeh?

Hi guys,

I've got an option of £9.2K total cost over 2 years, 10K a year to have a S3 Black Edition S Tronic. Spec doesn't look like it's missing anything apart from Lumbar support that I'd expect.

Any thoughts on if this is a good deal? I see the criticisms of the S3 from the last round of deals end of last year, but guessing the Black Edition is a little different spec?

Thanks,

Rich

Hi all,

New to site looking for some advice.

I have had a couple of quotes on the following

S3 sportsback
S - tronic
Black edition
Grey nano
18k per annum

3x35 best price I have so far is £433.

What do you think on the price? I am hoping I can do a little bit better, £400 is my limit.
