We have had an odd noise from the front right corner which has progressively got worse. We were told by an Audi garage ( who we then fell out with ) that the people who had fitted the steering rack must have bent an engine mount and it was that "knocking""ticking"..... We decided to get them to fix that as it was getting worse but they then decided it was a wheel bearing ! My husband was pretty sure it wasnt, hence the falling out. We decided to change the wheel bearing as others said it could possibly be that ( bearing in mind that the car is in France so I had to let them hear the noise from my smartphone !! ) - anyway it isn't.
My husband has all along thought it could be something to do with the cv joint, although not the standard knocking from that - ie in slow corners, as it does it all the time. Definitely coming from the right front wheel area.
Anyone had this same problem or agrees or can suggest another possible cause ??

Could be a number of things, top mount bearings, CV joint, lose wheel nuts. Pretty difficult to diagnose without being with the car. Find a reputable indie or specialist to take a look, should be pretty straight forward for someone who knows what they are doing!
