Looking to get another Yeti next year- owned a 140 Elegance in 2011-5 and it was ideal for me(driving down forest tracks and riverbanks one day and long motorway trip the next ). Looking at pre -owned low mileage and decided to look for a 170 , probably with DSG box (never tried one but fancy it ) . Few 170s but lots 150TDI- are these the house trained version post emissions scandal ? Anybody got one ? Thoughts on trim level, DSG or 6 speed etc and generally welcome.

Toyed with a new Duster but .... well..it is a bit basic isn't it ? Kuga - OK but too big, ditto Tiguan. Rav huge - Qashqai a bit slow with 1,5 DCi like Duster? It's only me and OH, usually just me .

ps before I am told I am buying tedious white goods and should buy an M3 or something I do have a daft car as well.....

I've got a 170 DSG 4x4 L&K - performance is fine for day to day driving, it's not too slow but won't set your hair on fire either. Gearbox is very smooth on upshifts, although can lurch a bit from 3rd to 2nd when cold.

Superb on winter tyres on snow and having driven all the small family SUV's the Yeti to me is the best in terms of performance and handing. Cabin feels a bit dated now against new cars coming to market but generally I like it's utilitarian abilities like removing all the back seats and cabin height has the van like practicality when you need it.
150PS engine is EU6 compliant and came out about year ago - I understand there a few 170 DSG's about but they will all need the emissions update from VW when they release it, no issue really.

L&K spec pretty much has everything you need in terms of spec, xenon's, big sunroof, heated seats & windscreen etc, although the brown leather is a bit of an acquired taste - nothing not to like really, go for it.
