Touch n go whether its available for xmas if the dealers will be throwing the 14 day rule
14 day rule?

Is that 14 days from paperwork signed
Some of the dealers seem to insist on holding the car for 14-days between paperwork signing and delivery. But this isn't VWFS enforced.

Usually dealers insist on holding the car for 14 days if its a distance transaction and docs are signed off premise.

Happened for my current Golf R, where my car went from being built and sat at dealers within 7 days. Then had to wait 14 days....This was disguised as we have no delivery drivers available before then lol.

I think its do with the distant selling regulations that give 14 days from signing contracts to changing your mind and returning the car.

The dealer would be stuck with a ownerless car (potentially classed as used), and having to front the delivery costs to you (and possibly the return costs also)

What ID, if any, is required when the vehicle is picked up/dropped off?

I just have the card license, I hope they're not asking for paper copy

In transit now finally, BW 28/11. Seems the tracker just skips over the car being built process.

Apparently Wolfsburg produce over 2,200 golfs a day. So time spent building the car is minimal.

A good article

One thing I can safely say is that it really doesn't take much for the car to look absolutely filthy in winter. Also notice an obscene amount of dirt attaches itself to the rear hatch/window!

I didn't even get asked for any ID when collecting. Simply told them my name and signed a single piece of paper. Quite concerning really considering I could of been anyone.

I'll get some pics up later on, although the car is filthy at the moment. Currently sat in my office.

Car is a standard Golf GTI with DSG, Apple CarPlay didn't come as standard with the Nav. I am considering getting it activated at my local dealership though!

Didn't know you could get it activated, I'm sure they charge something silly though.

Same as me 5 door DSG but I have paid for some gangster drug dealing glass at the rear.

I'd be interested to know the price on activating the car play. Does the car allow to just connect an Aux in at all? I use Amozon music so not sure how that will work with the cars media player.

I was going to go for the tinted windows also but found it cheaper loacaly to me.

Yeah I thought about going to a local place but wasn't sure on the rules on doing things like that at the time.

Didn't even realise the car has keyless entry.

My mini JCW goes back Jan, surprisingly the mini has been a lot of fun

Dealer will charge between £200 & £300 I have been told. Its a bit of a rip off for a software activation code!!

Is anyone aware if there are decent discounts on the edition 40? Would be PCP I imagine to get the discount.

Currently got a 2014 GTI PP, but would love an ed40. With a some 'necessary' options though it's £33835!

Car has AUX, USB, WLAN, Bluetooth and SD Card slot for playing music. Not sure on price yet as still trying to decide whether I even actually need it.
