Is that 14 days from paperwork signed
Some of the dealers seem to insist on holding the car for 14-days between paperwork signing and delivery. But this isn't VWFS enforced. Usually dealers insist on holding the car for 14 days if its a distance transaction and docs are signed off premise.
Happened for my current Golf R, where my car went from being built and sat at dealers within 7 days. Then had to wait 14 days....This was disguised as we have no delivery drivers available before then lol.
I think its do with the distant selling regulations that give 14 days from signing contracts to changing your mind and returning the car.
The dealer would be stuck with a ownerless car (potentially classed as used), and having to front the delivery costs to you (and possibly the return costs also)

Apparently Wolfsburg produce over 2,200 golfs a day. So time spent building the car is minimal.
A good article

One thing I can safely say is that it really doesn't take much for the car to look absolutely filthy in winter. Also notice an obscene amount of dirt attaches itself to the rear hatch/window!

What ID, if any, is required when the vehicle is picked up/dropped off?
I didn't even get asked for any ID when collecting. Simply told them my name and signed a single piece of paper. Quite concerning really considering I could of been anyone.Liam-pwxru said:
Any more pics Alex?
Did you add any options?
Apple car play come as standard with the Nav??
I'll get some pics up later on, although the car is filthy at the moment. Currently sat in my office.Did you add any options?

Car is a standard Golf GTI with DSG, Apple CarPlay didn't come as standard with the Nav. I am considering getting it activated at my local dealership though!

I'd be interested to know the price on activating the car play. Does the car allow to just connect an Aux in at all? I use Amozon music so not sure how that will work with the cars media player.
I was going to go for the tinted windows also but found it cheaper loacaly to me.
Dealer will charge between £200 & £300 I have been told. Its a bit of a rip off for a software activation code!!I was going to go for the tinted windows also but found it cheaper loacaly to me.

Car has AUX, USB, WLAN, Bluetooth and SD Card slot for playing music. Not sure on price yet as still trying to decide whether I even actually need it.I was going to go for the tinted windows also but found it cheaper loacaly to me.
