Did everyone else get the contracts posted to them? Just assumed they would send out emails rather than post given the time it takes with postage.
Email from the dealer for mine. Have to post them back recorded delivery with driving licence and utility bill.Edited by breeza on Wednesday 7th December 19:16
Contracts came today, they had 9p not 6p on. Phoned dealer who suggested I ring VW lease to try and clarify that the proposal was 6p. She offered to ring herself but I told her I'd do it instead.
Phone call 1. Told to tell the dealer that as it was pre 14th Oct the 6p rate could stand. Told the dealer who then said she couldn't change the paperwork, ok said I. I then rang again to make sure some paperwork got sent.
Phone call 2. Was told that it couldn't be changed to 6p. Ever. Had to stand my ground to get to talk to contract hire as I am not a customer yet. Pointed out that I knew it could be changed and so could she speak to someone. She tried to get me to the new business team but it took so long waiting that I had to go as a client had an appt.
Phone call 3. Told at the start again that nothing could be done as the xs mileage has to be as per the current rate as per the contract start. Let the man finish and then explained as above. He then tried to get me to the new business department. They wouldn't talk to me but advised that someone from the IT dept would be 'sorting this out'. Apparently I'll get a phone call when this happens.
Seeing as they've been changing contracts for people already plus the Leon excess mileage debarke it's surprising when you ring they make out it's impossible to change the contract....

I was told just to email back my signed copies plus a scan of my driving licence. Got a reply within hours after saying they would be in touch as soon as the car reached the dealership to arrange delivery. Edited by breeza on Wednesday 7th December 19:16
Fingers crossed things are starting to go my way.
Can't believe the above phone call mess, but as you rightly quoted, people have had the excess rates changed so they don't really have a leg to stand on.
What level of GAP cover have people gone for?
From reading the contract it appears to me that in an event of a total loss "we" are only liable for the total remaining payments.
However there is also this statement:
5.4 If we do not receive the money payable under your insurance policy on a
total loss claim, you must pay us, when we ask, an amount equal to the
value of the Vehicle immediately before its total loss, damage or
destruction.
My interpretation of that is if the insurance company do not pay out period, not if the insurance company don't pay out what they're expecting.
Going by that then I only need enough to cover my payments over 2 years, however I may up it a little and extend to 3 years to cover me keeping the car a little longer (cost is fairly negligible).
I'm planning to ring ALA this afternoon for some advice before buying anything.

Well I got my paperwork from CVL today and luckily for me it's got the correct mileage rate on it so that is one less thing to sort out . One quick question for anyone else who has there's :- mine is showing date of registration as 31st Dec, I assume that is the earliest it would be available to pick up or deliver and that date is set in stone as it's on the forms ? I.e. There is no way it will come befor that ?

I got a quote for GAP from ALA, 3 years £2000 deposit cover with £20,000 claim limit
£168 with PISTON12 discount code.
Probably will go ahread with it, cheaper than through CVL.
Is there a reason you are taking out 20k cover? My understanding is that you only need to cover the payments you are liable for not the potential shortfall in vehicle value. Therefore 6k or 7k of cover plus deposit should be sufficient for two years?£168 with PISTON12 discount code.

My pantomime continues.
CVL are not replying to emails, tried several different accounts now.
Graham Burgess at Sinclair finally replied on Wednesday and said he would contact vw and let me know how he's got on, this after he sent me the same contract that Zoey had sent the week before which I am asking they sort out the ppm. A polite request of an update today still not replied to.
I bit the bullet and phoned vwfs this afternoon, I asked for Caitlin Kennedy as suggested in a previous post and got the " you are not a customer as no signed contract or reg number " , after again explaining the situation and not passsing security for reasons above I was finally put through... Straight away she said not to sign the paperwork from Sinclair or will be tied, she said she would speak to Sinclairs as she was not able to change the paperwork but it is in fact a dealers job but they more often get customers to call vwfs which is another fob off.
I now have no idea what is going on, pissed off more than ever with the service I am receiving. The car is sat waiting , I just hope it doesn't end up like another of Sinclairs gti's. Haven't seen this for a few years so I suggest you check your nuts at night , obviously Sinclair don't.
They have time to tweet.

It does seem that some dealers are not exactly in a rush to get these cars out. Mine landed in the UK on 28th November and according to VW online chat the dealer still hasn't requested transport of the vehicle to them!
I chased with the lease agent who to be fair have been great, got the paperwork through, signed and sent back, reg date set as 14th December so we shall see how long after that I get the car!!
