I've had mine for a month now and done 1500 miles. Given up trying to keep it looking like a new car...
I've adjusted to its ways and feel quite at home thrashing along in it occasionally; most of my miles are in commuter traffic so just leave it in eco. Regularly see a fraction under 40mpg - very good for a petrol turbo.
I've played with the individual profile and now have it set very similar to comfort with exception of the accelertor response which is in sport; a couple of times I was caught slightly off guard when pulling out and just seemed to be bogged down in the wrong gear. Sports mode is too much for me other than preparing for B road overtaking - it's like an angry yob with ADHD.
I'm still really impressed with it on the whole, adaptive cruise is a game changer.
The only let down is that the touchscreen is simply s**t when on move. It really needs a rotary controller; shame as it's packed full of features I just find it borderline dangerous when trying to select right option when driving. IDrive control is in a different league. Keen to see what the next gen of nav unit is like to use with the gesture control.

Hi all,
I ordered a red gti 2yrs 10k manual,everything else standard,through NVS.
Car was meant to be delivered yesterday(Wed11th),got a phone call at 1.30 pm from NVS saying the car has starter button issues, couldnt tell me anymore about the actual problem than that.
So they say car will be fitted with a new button thursday and i would now get the car on friday 13th..ok fine i said..
An hour later get another call this time telling me fridays overbooked and they will deliver thursday 12th in the morning!
So cars coming today apparently, luckily my current lease is overlapping a couple of days so havent been left without a car.
Must admit im a little concerned now, anyone had this problem with the push start button?Anything else i should be looking out for when inspecting the car before signing for it?

Anyone else experienced wheel hop in their GTI yet? I accelerated hard from a mini round about today in the wet and jesus did the car thud with the traction control/stability system kicking in - scared the life out of me felt like i hit 2 large pot holes. Anyway still love the car

I believe there is a member with a blue car on order...most were white though, in keeping with low spending ethos.
Not sure if that was me. I ordered one in Night Blue but by the time the order was processed they'd decided to stop making them that colour. I ended up with Deep Black Pearl (and no other options - manual 5 door). If all goes to plan it will arrive on Monday. rejn said:

Yeah possibly was yourself. Black should look nice though, slightly less of a pain to see the dirt compared to the white.The_0ne said:
car sits way too high
vw racing springs ordered
Wouldn't advertise that to widely, modding a lease car is against the rules of the contract, unless it's a dealer supply and fit item I think. Correct me if I'm wrong... vw racing springs ordered
Obviously it's not an issue if the car isn't written off or in an accident.
Don't mean to sound like a bore, I'd like to lower mine given the option and change the rear box for something a little more free flowing.

Fine to mod it aslong as its fitted properly and doesn't leave damage or holes in bodywork etc and that you return it to normal at end of lease
Straight out the VW terms and conditions booklet
Interesting, wish I'd bought the VWR wheels & air filter whilst in the sale after Xmas now. Thanks for putting me right. The remap is a good question though...Straight out the VW terms and conditions booklet
