Just confirmed that its on a truck making the 3 hour journey to the dealer. So should be there today or tomorrow depending on how many drop offs there are.

Mine says it's on final stage of the journey to the retailer for preparation for last 5 days is there another notification saying it's arrived at the dealer?

I'm waiting for a bank statement everything I have for statements is online and they need proof of address, so that's going to hold mine up if they need to do this 14 day thing, I'm thinking delivery won't be till 1st week of Jan now

I never sent any statements or utility bills as I don't receive any physical copies. I simply sent both parts of my licence and that was enough for them to confirm my address! Picked the car up a week after doing so.

Did they ask you too? NVS put that and licence on mine to send to VW Lookers, might give them a call instead of waiting for the bank

Just phoned Lookers VW Newcastle, what miserable bunch of gits. Receptionist sounded like it was a big inconvenience picking up the phone, asked for my name then forwarded me on without saying anything, sales were just as miserable.

For anyone else getting there's from there they are booking deliveries up till the 16th December then no deliveries till Jan.

So latest on mine is the boat arrived yesterday but the car hasn't been scanned off it yet. They estimate 7-10 days to arrive at the dealers. Can't see it being a xmas delivery sadly.

Mine still showing 10 days on the tracker, but dealer emailed today saying it's at the UK port awaiting transportation. He still reckons delivery early next week so fingers crossed.

Phoned Newbury...she says my car arrived at port this morning. Takes approx 5-10 days for it to arrive at their service centre, then a few days to get cleaned up and processed. She was hopeful i would have it in week beginning 19th december. Paperwork to arrive this week.

My delivery is booked for this Friday (9th).

With this being my first lease, does anyone have any tips when taking delivery of what to check above the obvious dents/scratches/curbing etc?

I'm also wondering whether to complain to VW about my excess mileage saga. I read on the Leaon Cupra thread that some people on there got a free service after experiencing a similar problem. Might wait until I have the car in my hands before rocking the boat too much.

JT did you get your info about car being in U.K. From the tracker ? Mine still showing in transit and it says it could 3 weeks on the tracker . I've gone for the same car as you and we have the same build date and mine is also going to Cardiff so I assume they are sat next to each other somewhere?!

I spoke to the online live assistant on the VW site. They have more up to date info over the tracker.

So I suspect yours will be on the same boat or possibly even land side now. If we are lucky we may get them pre-xmas but all depends on land transport and dealer turnaround.

I would suggest dealing with this before you take delivery of the car as you still have some leverage - i.e. the threat of cancelling the order due to the T&C's changing.

Once you take delivery, you will have lost this opportunity.

Reading through previous posts ruggerz has had his excess amended to 6ppm , just unhappy that had to sort this out themselves.

I've been waiting since last Wednesday for a reply from either Sinclair or CVL. I won't be signing at 9ppm. All original paperwork was dated 3rd October, the credit check was passed at 3AM on the 4th. Really not happy with the lack of service or information by either company now.

If I treated my customers like this I'd be out of business.

Have you spoken over the phone to the fleet leasing department at Sinclair yet? I gave up with CVL and called Sinclair's. The call lastest about 5 minutes and contained pretty much all the answers to the questions I had.

The only unknown is if the excess will remain at the original 6ppm + VAT (7.2ppm) or if it gets raised to the 8.1ppm inc VAT that Sinclair said is the new rate. This may be the same for you?

My file still says 6ppm but he said this may or may not change once the contracts are sent out. This won't be known until the car is at the dealers.

If I can't get the 6ppm I will live with the 8.1ppm but will be looking for some sort of compensation. I was tempted originally to just decline the car but it works out not much more p per 1000 miles at the 8.1ppm excess over the 7.2ppm.

Hi JT,
We have had the contract since last Wednesday which also includes the chassis number. They asked for it all to be emailed back asap and to arrange the deposit payment so they could arrange a delivery slot , this all could have been done on Wednesday. We're more than prepared to sign and pay asap when they reply to me. I sent emails again today but no replies. I'm in no rush for the car so they can keep it on their forecourt for as long as it takes. Why should we be doing the legwork , CVL have taken our fee , Sinclair obviously don't want our custom after receiving the car. Piss poor service so far.

I agree totally, the service has been awful from both sides. I also agree 'we' shouldn't be doing any of the donkey work trying to sort this stuff out.

I emailed Sinclair's a few times early on and never had one reply, I ended up chancing a call to them, which as previously mentioned solved a few things.

I'm not exactly in a rush for mine either as I have a daily runabout still. It's more after all this waiting I'd like to see something, not at the expense of the higher excess that you have been quoted though. If my contract comes through with the 9ppm I will be declining it unless the rate is dropped.

Also I've just seen the new SEAT Leon Cupra ST updates, which I'll be keeping an eye on if the Golf falls through.

Hope all the cars from Sinclair's get sorted though.

I suppose the argument should be with VWUK as they obviously put out the offer on the 3rd in full knowledge that the ppm would be increasing on the 4th. Keith from CVL was good to deal with but once the admin fee was paid and my tracking order given that's been it from them.
Not sure if I'm dealing with a sales manager or admin clerk at VW Sinclair but this shouldn't make any difference. I am their customer, not just some bod who may be interested in a car.
Just how many white GTi do Sinclair want sat on their forecourt over Christmas and the New Year.

My local SEAT dealer on the other hand were great even though I missed the cut off date for the last of the Cupra ST's.
We also looked at Yeti at local Skoda who even though couldn't match CVL lease price let us take one out for a test drive as were interested in us for servicing.
