I sent all my paperwork back on 12th December and I get mine this Thursday ! Mine was obviously delayed by Christmas and waiting for a delivery date from the dealership

Not a happy bunny, had the golf about 3 weeks now

Today I received a letter from Volkswagen financial services saying hope I'm enjoying the vehicle on the 7th jan they will collect the initial payment of £3120 by direct debit then £153 a month after

Firstly initial rental is £2400 and id already paid that to the dealer in Newcastle!!

Anyone else had a similar letter - those that already have the car I mean?

So the initial payment for my deal with CVL was £3149 but with a VW contribution of £749, so in essence £2400 with the rest paid by VW.

Monthly payments are still £95.99 per month though, so not sure why your monthlys are so much more higher unless you have any optional extras or higher mileage deal??

That's almost identical to my deal

Contact VWFS, sounds like a foul up somewhere.

The dealer should NOT have taken your initial deposit, it is always taken directly by VWFS. Was the sales person you dealt with a business specialist? As if not he/she has probably taken the money in the mistaken belief that the initial rental acts like a deposit as it does in a HP deal. The dealer should have paid you money - the difference between the actual initial rental amount and the £2400.

This is off my finance agreement

We also need a cheque made payable to Lookers VW of £2400.00 , the dealership will make payment for the remaining to make up as per agreement

That's slightly strange, my experience is based on the Leon Cupra I leased a few weeks back via VWFS (different supplying dealer to you though) and in fact the latest post on the Cupra lease thread is from Sumo69 stating he dealt with Lookers and never paid them any money but received the deposit difference from them after 2 days

Great so im now expecting the same as mine was from Newcastle and again I was asked to send them the cheque instead of them sending me one for the difference and then me paying VWFS. Please keep me updated on how u get on

This is exactly the same as mine, I sent a cheque payable to Lookers VW last week for £2400 (Newcastle dealer) Ordered through NVS. I was told it would be around 5 days from them receiving the cheque and docs for them delivering the car, not heard anything back as yet!

All true - however Lookers Stockport have different sales offices for VW and SEAT - definitely sounds very strange especially is they have cashed your cheque??

Thats about 14 day wait which ties in with the cooling off period...hopefully they dont make me wait 14 days....only just sent paperwork in last week (due to paperwork foul up) and the garage forwarded to vwfs today on the 4th.
I pressed garage on when i could get the car (which has been sat at garage for 2-3 weeks now) and they mentioned it is down to the lease company and vwfs as to who arranges delivery.

Hard to get a straight up answer from them....annoying as i have arranged return of my current lease to go back on friday. might need to delay it a bit.

Spoke to VWFS this morning who confirmed the dealership in Newcastle had paid the initial payment (Part of which I paid £2400)

Said its an error there end but as its so close to 7th Jan they cant cancel the system trying to take the £3120 so they advised me to cancel my direct debit to prevent it being taken

Then in a weeks time ring VWFS back up who will set up a fresh direct debit

Pain in the arse! but at least its being sorted
