I've recently taken delivery of the new A4 (B9) and I’m happy with just about everything bar the MMI.

This is a company car for munching ~30k miles PA, so I chose a few extras including the technology pack with virtual cockpit (£1k) for the real-time sat nav and google maps, plus the VC is actually a delight.

The first couple of weeks were great. I typically have the Google Earth sat-nav as the dash display, however, over the last few days I've intermittently been getting a pop-up advising either "Data Services requires a SIM" or "Cannot connect to MyAudi Server". When this happens, the Google Earth and real-time traffic become obsolete and it defaults to the standard offline Audi maps.

It sometimes corrects itself the following day, or after a few hours of the engine being off, but it’s completely random and can happen mid-journey. It happens in city centres and in rural areas, so I don’t think it’s a connectivity/reception issue.

I’ve tried a factory reset but the problem persists. My ‘licenses’ for maps etc all expire in 2019 and state this in the menus. Are the Audi servers actually this bad? I’m reluctant to take it into Audi due to it being intermittent and fully expect it to be working on the occasion I do take it in, so hoping I’m just missing something..!?
