I didn't spec Car-Net App-Connect on my new Golf and it's a £245 retrofit. The Golf has sat-nav fitted as standard; so to those people who have it fitted do you use it & is is worth it?

Cheers, Mark.

I have it specced on my Golf R, where the sat nav wasn't fitted as standard.
I have android phones, so probably not of much use to you.
I had a HTC One M8 and it was shockingly bad. I recently bought a Samsung galaxy S7 and it works really well. I used the maps and Spotify and it works so well.
No issues, and I'd rather use the Google maps than the built in satnav that I've heard isn't great.

I have it in my Golf R too. It has mostly been great, especially being able use maps on my phone, as I don't have the nav fitted. I can't use Google maps as sadly Apple CarPlay doesn't support it but Apple maps seems to have improved a lot over the last couple of updates. Being able to use Spotify on the go is really good, it is occasionally a bit buggy, not playing tracks unless you unlock the phone first but again I suspect that is an Apple thing rather than App Connect. On the whole I'm glad I went for it.
