My coupe order was lodged 30/11. It has been built and is currently in quality control. I was originally dealing with V4B but ordered with nationwide vehicle contracts.
Seems strange an order placed a fortnight after mine is built, yet i have not even got a build date.Beginning to think the problem is the broker

Mine is currently in the dealers getting some rattles sorted out plus looking at the ticking from engine. They seem to think ticking is injectors and will be the same on all cars. Would be interested to hear someone else's engine at some stage. Is anyone getting an s5 from Scotland?
The dealers have been very good and apologetic about the rattles and creeks... I have an a3 courtesy car and they have told me if they need it for more days after tomorrow they will get me in something more 'fun.' The rear window is what is creeping and they have said it needs to be taken out and a new seal or something! They also said they are working on a 'goodwill gesture' due to not having my car for a couple days. (To which I told them I'd happily take an r8 as compensation for a few days haha)
Jacob I'm about an hour up the coast from you although my Sportback isn't getting built till the 13th March, so it will be a couple of months before you could compare. The dealers have been very good and apologetic about the rattles and creeks... V4B here, order date 14/11/16, expected construction date 13/3/17, Sportback.
Just had a phone call from V4B.
Said mine will start build in june / july.
I told him to cancel the order and he offered a sportback for delivery in April.
Unfortunately i wanted a coupe so no deal.

I ordered ym coupe via Swansea Audi on 1/2/17 and was told my car starts being built 8th May. I sincerely hope that is accurate. If it isnt i will be sorely disappointed.
I used to work for a BMW delaership and then the dealer had to predict an allocation of cars for each quarter. eg we will pre order 50 3 series for quarter 1, 30 5 series, 30 1 series, 15 z4 etc etc. I wonder if that is ehy some of you who have ordered via brokers are being messed around.
On a different note I see contract cars are offering the s5 sportback from 350 per month inc VAT. No mention on the email i received of what the specifics were on that. I clicked on the link and it asked for details for a quote.

Are the rattles from speakers? Door cards? Switches? Vents?

You boys should have taken the Leon Cupra Black deals - no squeaks or rattles at all (now see what happens!) and £5k cheaper!!
Achh, away you to Spain and look for your missing 2 cylinders Talking of squeaks and rattles, with all these cars being made in a massive hurry to get them registered before the tax rise in April this undoubtedly won't have any effect on build quality, no sir.

They were a good deal but I didnt want to step from a golf r into one. Leon is too similar but not quite as good. i wanted something completely different. simonwhite2000 said:

Similar, but I also wanted 4WD and I think both the Golf estate and Leon estate (the only new Cupra in 4WD) look a bit dorky vs their Audi counterpart, with the sportback being the best of both worlds being more stylish but still having a useful boot door (saloon and coupe boot apertures are less than ideal for pushchairs and big boxes).Mrjww88 said:
Ahhhh my status on audi track my car has been showing as it having left the factory in Ingolstadt. The status has been unchanged for the last 12 days. Starting to get ants in my pants! ????
You may want to contact Audi UK live chat or your dealer, my tracking page still shows status 38 (Left Ingolstadt) since the 2nd. However on Monday I got a call from my Dealer saying it's in the U.K. and they should have it tomorrow. Not picking it up until the 3rd March though. S5tim said:

Hi, I ordered a 2017/18 S5 Sportback from Nationwide Vehicle Leasing which was the cheapest deal I could find.I used to work for a BMW delaership and then the dealer had to predict an allocation of cars for each quarter. eg we will pre order 50 3 series for quarter 1, 30 5 series, 30 1 series, 15 z4 etc etc. I wonder if that is ehy some of you who have ordered via brokers are being messed around.

Mythos Black
Virtual Cockpit
Red Leather Seats
Flat Bottom Steering Wheel
Fold Away Tow Bar (as have a boat)
Initial Rental of: £1,393.50 (excl. VAT)
Processing Fee: £150.00 (excl. VAT)
Standard Delivery: £0.00 (excl. VAT)
Followed by 35 rentals of: £464.50 (excl. VAT)
Delivery expected 1st week in March. All was well until they emailed me saying this was now put back to the end of March. Went to my local Audi dealer a couple of weeks ago to have a look around and got talking to a sales guy and I told him the story. He said he would see what he could come up with and come back to me. A week later he telephoned to say he had a cancellation, and this was the spec:
Mythos Black
Virtual Cockpit
Red Leather Seats
Flat Bottom Steering Wheel
Privacy Glass
Atlas Carbon Fibre Trim
Fold Away Tow Bar
Initial Rental of: £1,397.49 (excl. VAT)
Processing Fee: £0.00 (excl. VAT)
Standard Delivery: £0.00 (excl. VAT)
Followed by 35 rentals of: £465.83 (excl. VAT)
So, shorter delivery time and higher spec for much the same price!!....result.
Needless to say I cancelled Nationwide and ordered direct from Audi. It is being built this week. Always worth talking to the dealer first it seems.
A little off subject but when I asked my local dealer (who I know well) when the new RS4 would be out he said the only model on the horizon is the new RS5 Sportback, he's seen a mock up and it's aggressively styled with flared arches, thinks it will be on sale by Xmas. Anyone else heard anything?

I'd be amazed if that was true. I would be surprised if they a) didn't make an RS4 avant, b) made a sportback before the coupeWilling to be proven wrong though. Could be to do with the RS7s popularity in the states I suppose. I personally think the cars I would prefer would be the RS4 avant and RS5 sportback but I think the avant and coupe give better coverage of markets.
I cannot see an RS4 saloon and RS5 coupe together in the line up but an RS4 avant with RS5 in sportback or coupe form would be worthwhile perhaps

Agree it's always worth asking your dealer - although I asked several and they couldn't touch the broker price I had.

He wasn't saying that there won't be an RS4 Avant, only that the first RS onto the market on the new platform would be the 5 sportback. Your comment about the US market rings true, I didn't know that the RS7 had been a success over there.Willing to be proven wrong though. Well I get the impression it's popular, there are a lot of tuning/drag videos of the RS7 in the states, whereas over here it seems 50/50 with RS6sTomScrut said:
