I've just read through 112 pages of frustration, impatience, anger, excitement and elation. I'm genuinely quite exhausted.

Ordered S5 Coupe, Daytona Grey, red interior, folding mirrors, VC, flat bottom wheel and HHA. Price was £368.38 on a 9+23 + 300 fee + the options at full price including free trailer delivery. Does that seem reasonable?

Ordered through Car Leasing Online. They said if I cancel they would refund their fee. I got a dealer to match the price without the fee but they weren't prepared to deliver so I'd have to drive 50 miles to collect and also there would be a £500 charge to cancel.

I'm now debating whether I add privacy glass. Anyone have an opinion?

For the amount of glass it actually affects on the coupe, I wouldn't bother. The door glazing takes up far more area than what they tint. Bear in mind I couldn't justify it on a black SB though.

Good morning and welcome.
With regards to the privacy glass, I went through the same thing, originally ordering without. I then change my mind and added it to my order.
I personally don't think they look quite right (regardless of coupe or sportback) without privacy glass - mind you I also said that I didn't think they look good with chrome and now think they do - although still thinking about having the crew wrapped when mine arrives.
In terms of price, it looks as good as you're going to get - by my calculations it's about £700 – £800 more than the deals that were being offered in November ( or something along those lines) which pretty much covers the variation with road fund licence.

Add the privacy or get them tinted. I didnt spec privacy on my order and was reasonably ok with that but as soon as I saw a few of the new A5's in a showroom and compared with or without I tried to add it immediately. I was too late so had the Audi dealer do the tinting before delivery.

Personally I think it looks much better with privacy glass, both coupe & SB. I debated this for my SB for ages, and thought I could have this done at a later date in a tint shop, but my dealer threw it in for no extra charge and with carbon fibre trim too, so no complaints there! clap Also, bear in mind how hot it could get in the back on a summers day as well with such a large piece of glass.

You won't be disappointed with Daytona we had it on a previous A5 BE and my personal choice would be to have privacy.

Which dealer did you go to? It maybe possible to get a better quote wink

Same here - originally ordered my SB without Privacy glass and after looking at the Audi configurator again and again decided I "needed" it - glad I added it now

I'll be paying the dealer directly for this as my order was already submitted.

I was quoted £350.00. Obviously don't need one now, but may be an indication of what you may be looking at. Only downside to aftermarket tints is they can scratch with kids, dogs, etc.

FYI

Audi's systems are f&*ked today, all offline apparently at the moment as are some of their websites.

Someone in IT must have been working the weekend on that "insignificant change" biggrin

I agree in black at least, although my SB hasn't got it as I couldn't justify it, the pics I have seen of them look v good with it.

If it wasn't black you are only creating another colour mismatch on the car IMO.

IMO privacy glass has two functions: makes the car look good (especially black ones) and does not cook your rear passengers in the summer. Also, the sun can fade the top of your rear seats & headrests.

I always pay £140. The company I use are the official tinters for BMW Sytner. They are in the Midlands though so it would be a bit of a drive for you.

That's a very good price & probably worth the drive. Not in dynamic mode though....laugh

That is odd, never happened to me. Maybe you pressed to boot button by mistake? it does have a long range.
