I posted this in the lease deals thread, also looking for options/opinions here.

I was in the process of ordering a SB as of three weeks ago, direct through an Audi dealer. Was quoted £3600, with £346/mo payments. This was for an Ibis white, with HH and VC.

The dealer quoted me this in writing over message (not an official quote) and put together an order form. Kept hassling him to get an official quote sent through, and eventually just received it, however it's significantly more expensive than he quoted, and he was trying to get me to place the order before seeing it!

Any options for finding one somewhere else in this price range, apart from the CVS deal? Or any comeback I have on the dealer?

Audi go from bad to worse!

I had numerous issues with 2 different dealer's when I last owned one and said I would never buy one again. Then several years later im tempted by these deals....until im gently reminded of how useless the service is and opt against it!

Problem is, Audi know they will still sell cars as Audi is still a desirable brand. I agree their customer service is terrible, but despite that, I've owned 2 Audi's so far with S5 SB becoming my 3rd.

Oh I agree, if you can get a car ordered with minimal contact from Audi, and then have a few years without any issues with the car, you are laughing!

My only contact with Audi has been making an appointment to have a nose around an A5 at a dealership. Turned up, was kept waiting for an hour and then salesman denied all knowledge of the appointment. Dealer principal was NOT happy to be fair so I hope the guy got a bking. Safe to say that establishment will not be getting my servicing business.
I've heard good thinks about MK Audi, and being the flagship dealership I'd hope they were good!

De-chromed looks so much better on white, I think I might wrap the chrome bits when mine arrives.

Their marketing, design and manufacturing departments sell the cars, their sales, service and logistics certainly don't (even if they should). That was the impression I have always got with my encounters with them. I have owned one in the past and although the guy I bought it off was nice when I went to look to swap it the guy I got was a bit cocky, almost like he thought he didn't have to work for the sale and that the car would sell itself, problem for him was I was talking about going from an S4 to a 3.0tdi so he was going to have his work cut out!

Thats the good thing about leasing though, no sales staff to deal with!

Audi certainly haven't covered themselves with glory here, it seems.

Only a couple more days to get cars registered before the VED hammer falls.

Fingers crossed for those still hopeful of getting in before the cutoff,

I recall a few months ago wanting to view an S5 coupe in the showroom. I rang up and go through to what appeared to be a call centre. I arranged the appointment for a Saturday as I was told that demo car would be arriving before then. Great i thought and was looking forward to seeing the car in the flesh.

Fast forward to the day I was about to travel to dealership, I rang to double check the appointment was still booked as I hadn't any email confirmations etc. I was told they had no record of me booking appointment and the car was never even expected to be at the dealership until a few weeks later. Luckily I wasn't travelling far, but i raised my disappointment with the salesman who basically just fobbed me off.

Another issue I had with the same dealership in the northwest was when i was booking a service for my A6. The receptionist said there were no bookings available for a few weeks. I simply asked her if she could just maybe double check that there was nothing sooner (i had done this in the past and there would magically a free time slot sooner). She basically told me 'well, if there was anything sooner i would have told you...I'm not that thick...'. Pretty darn rude i thought.

The servicing itself was fine and i did give feedback to the manager of the dealership of my encounter with the scary receptionist.

Well I'm really looking forward to my first Audi now! hehe

If your interested, Infiniti have the most ridiculously good levels of customer care, I'm pretty sure if I asked to be blown while waiting for my coffee before being handed the keys to whatever car I wanted, they'd have done it, (No honestly, if you gave them a call a week or so before saying you needed a bigger boot for the weekend, they would give you one of the big 4x4 demos, no questions asked), I'm actually feeling a bit guilty about handing the car back without seeing them because they're all so nice biggrin

Still at Emden FFS frown (13th March build date)

Just sorted my insurance and GAP insurance ready for tomorrow. A big thank you to Mactrack for his earlier post on GAP insurance and how to get ALA to price match and beat totallossgap.co.uk (£87.40 all in)

I need to say thank you very much as well, I use the same system to get my GAP insurance in place ready for next week. Just trying to decide if I want to include the deposit within the insurance or just go for the basic cover which means that it goes right down to something like £55 for the two years.

I'm very happy that I have had a different experience from the above reviews of Audi. Having owned cars and bikes from most the major manufacturers I can honestly say my audi experience has been the best (maybe on a par with Harley Davidsonl) so far.

I ordered the car direct from Ayr Audi and it was ready on the 31st December after being rushed through. I was kept informed at every step and called a number of times after the delivery to check everything was OK.

The car came in a fantastic state and I am still happy with the finish... no hidden scrapes or swirl marks anywhere. (I've washed it around 8 times since new so should have noticed it by now)

When the car developed an annoying squeak in the back, they sorted the issue (took 4 days) apologised profusely and gave me a goodwill gesture (which I decided to put towards theatre tickets and flights to London!)

I guess my service is a bit different to.the normal... if anyone lives near Ayr (or fancies travelling for the service) then I massively recommend them.

I firstly got a quote on totallossgap.co.uk which came out at £105. I then got a quote online at ala.co.uk which came out at £193 (With the recommended £25k cover). I then called ALA and they price matched Totallossgap and beat it by 20% of the difference. The girl on the phone tried to tell me that £10k cover was enough (Which came out at £167) but I told her that I'd prefer to stick to the recommended £25k cover which of course meant the difference between TLG and ALA was greater and hence a further saving smile

Why would you need £25k? the total outlay on my car including the deposit is around just under £11,000 - I then paid for my couple of extras separately which took then to just over £11,500. I opted for the recommended £15,000 cover which therefore would cover any amount of final payment due even if the car disappeared off the drive within a week. Am I missing something?

After a quick look at TotalLossGap and ALA I'm just wondering how ALA can price match since TotalLossGap don't mention a limit, just that car is under £75k. What's the rationale behind £25k cover? In my case its a 2 year lease.

Exactly same thing here. I took 15k option. Advisor suggested this would cover any difference in the payout from your insurer and market value that you are liable for. Including them wanting all the finance payments too

Can't see this asked on previous 10 pages or so, but, on subject of insurance what are thoughts on best Alloy Wheel Insurance?

Normally I don't bother but whilst getting a GAP quote from ALA I looked at their Alloy Wheel Insurance, to see what cost would be, and noted it doesn't cover polished wheels, which the S5 has.
