Discovered a very annoying design fault with the coupe this morning - when you open the boot lid after a rainly night all the water simply tips straight into the boot. I dont a few drips either.
I also had my first 'miss the Golf R' thought this morning whilst pushing on a bit on the lanes near where I live. Miss the steering feel/weight but have to remind myself these are two different types of car.

On the positive side my average mpg is now 22mpg and I feel I am getting to grips with the tech inside the car now. With exception to the seats - I still have no idea how to adjust the side bolsters.

Does it feel any faster than the R? Was the R a manual?

Good reporting BTW!

I have noticed the annoying drips coming off the roof into drivers door when open... almost seems to funnel nicely into it!! Have same problem with my a4 though.

Simon.. to adjust the side bolsters(if that's what they are called?) on the car just turn the function wheel until it shows the side bits highlighted on the dash.. then use the forward arrow on the d pad (inside the function wheel) to inflate or deflate the bolsters. It will remember how inflated they are and when you turn off car they will deflate... they will.inflate again after you pull off.

I noticed the massage functions go off after 10 mins so have to keep turning back on if on a longer trip.

One thing that was really annoying my was the virtual cockpit was always showing the short term mpg memory on the right hand side. Sometimes I don't want to know that I'm using fuel at the same rate as a rocket ship!. I managed to overcome this by changing the virtual cockpit to standard classic view (it's under settings and needs car to be stationary to change). Imo it's much better as the rev guage and speedo are separate with the map (or whatever you want) in the middle.

You tried the launch control yet Simon?

My R was a manual and the S5 is slower. However I am comparing a run in 16k Golf R to a 225 mile S5 so its probably a comparison best made in a few months. I am driving the car hard as long as its up to temp as this whole bedding in thing is BS in my opinion.
Just to be clear my Golf R did have a JB1 fitted but this was removed about 3 weeks before it went back so I am comparing the standard R performance to this S5.

No not tried the launch control yet. I am curious though. I guess having experienced LC in a Golf R DSG (not mine, as I had a manual) I almost dont want to try it in the S5 in case it's a let down.

For the VC I am like you - I dont really want to see frightening MPG alothough it has improved. I got around it by using the scroll wheel on the left of the steering wheel to give different vehicle status views.

Another thing I found this morning was the USB cable I had been provided to connect my phone to the car was Apple. I find it frustrating they assume you have an iPhone and dont ask the question. VW did the same with my R.
I have phoned Liverpool and Warrington Audi thinking they will just tell me to pop down and they will change it. Oh no. Telling me I need to go back to the dealer that gave me the car. Going to call Audi UK on lunch and get it sorted.

So it might be worth asking for the cable you need via V4B or Fleet Sauce now to avoid any messing around.

Interesting, as it should be faster in a straight line?! Is it just the sensation that makes it seem slower (such as not having to change gear) or have you done any timings? With a bit of luck I will have a crossover period to allow me to draw my own conclusions!

I hate when they assume you have Apple. Just by chance V4B have ordered it through the group that have all my local dealers, which is a first for me with leases!

It could be just the sensation given its a heavier car but even looking down at the speedo it just doesnt seem to wind round as quick. Not done timings. But like I say the engine will be a bit tight currently so fingers crossed things feel different once passed the 1k mark.

Yeah, I find my Golf quite odd at times, unfortunately I run it on bog standard supermarket fuel as its the only one I pass on my commute, but its really noticeable how much more get up and go it has on decent juice! But it still seems to take until 3rd gear before it feels like its picking speed up well for some reason.

I ran my Golf R on V Power Nitro the whole time and whilst quick I would agree 3rd is when you really feel it kicking in. The JB1 sorted that out though and some - it was ballstic once that was fitted.

Anyway, hoping this S5 loosens off with a few k under its belt.

I think they may have detuned it in 1st and 2nd to increase the 0-60 vs the RS3 or something... The JB1 and other tunes give say 20% more power yet knock over a second off the 0-60!

If a JB1 comes out for the S5 are you going to consider that? Too early to ask?

Lucky you, mine hasn't, still 10th of April! Wish it would go forwards.....

When was yours ordered and what spec is it?
I just got my order details sent over and boshed them into the yourAudi site. Est start date is 17th April for my Sportback, ordered 28/11/2016. I've been assured the original price will be honoured.

My 'youraudi' tracker has just updated from saying the 1st may to 13th February. Has anyone else's just updated?
Nope, mine has been showing 20th Feb for since end of Nov and not shifted. Ordered 01/11.
Similar to mine.

Ordered 26/10 and it's been showing 20th Feb to start building ever since it first appeared on the tracker.

Ah, the coupe part is probably key there!

They look cool, but I wouldn't be bothered about speccing them on a lease. If I was buying I think I would. Horses for courses though I paid £100 on the lease for a flat bottomed wheel but my B8 S4 always bugged me not having one.

I like a lot and for £100 it seems an easy decision. Then I think...£100 for some extra lights on a lease car.. why bother. May regret not speccing them.

I went for them, mainly because I really like the blue strips in the Golf. Now I fancy the flat bottomed wheel as well though :/

Yeah they are good in the Golf, I would definitely have gone for them if the S5 didn't have the white ones by default. The flat bottomed wheel isn't as flat bottomed as the Golf but looks far better than the standard I reckon. I only went flat bottomed wheel and VC.
