Yeah not very considerate of the fact that people are trying to plan things is it? I need to sort something by the end of April whether it be an extension to my current car or a different lease. I will be gutted if its delayed until back end as it will mean I will probably have to cancel
My lease car was due to go back yesterday, but have extended it on an informal basis. I'm happy to do this for a few months, but certainly don't want to do it for the rest of the year.
I have an R with VW FS so that is an option for me as far as I am aware. I would just rather know what is happening so I can make plans. My dad has a GTD he could possibly lend me if needs be but until I know what's happening I can't arrange anything!

This sounds more than a little worrying, when you say Audi guy is that someone a main dealer or someone who is working at head office?
I'm just wondering if it's time to start worrying.
I'm sure most of you, when I ordered my sport back I was told late February early March, I sceptically assumed end of March at the latest.
My current build date is still showing 10th April which am guessing with would be delivery for the middle of May - however if all of a sudden it looks like it could be delayed until much later in the year I don't think I can wait that long.
I could do with knowing sooner rather than later, I had already decided if the S5 was not going to be them I will probably buy something to have some fun with the next couple of years.
Was just a dealer.
I actually called Audi but as i didnt have a build/order number, they couldnt look into my car.
The lady on the phone said we would have been made aware of anything that would cause long delays like this. Advised me to call back with the order/build number so see if its just a problem with my car.
More likely to believe Audi in this case, but still concerned something might get said next week.
Emailed CVL and the dealer for my order/build number this afternoon but didnt get a reply.

Was offered a cancelled order today, much more expensive, about +£1500 over the term compared to what they were a few weeks ago, they advised that the price increase was mostly due to VED rises being factored in now...
Did you see my post about the cancelled one? Works out extra £621 over the term. Still a big increase though.

Blimey, there's a surprise CVL not responding to emails. I spoke to Scott back in October about a deal on an S5 and I was in a holding pool (The same as JetSkiJezz) and Scott promised he'd be in touch at the end of the week that I spoke to him. No reply whatsoever!!!

He did however call me a couple of weeks ago to say he'd had another allocation of 5 cars and was I still interested lol

You were 3 months too late calling back Scott!!!!! lol

I also enquired with a few lease companies when I was looking into what to get; a lot of them replied or rang within a day, some took a few weeks which I find absurd. Are they that busy they don't have the time and are therefore understaffed or do they have a bad relationship with the lenders that they take that much time. Either way I'd be looking at the situation if it was my business.

Mine is still showing 20th Feb to start production.

If there was an issue looming, I would have hoped those of us due to receive our cars the first would have been told before people whose delivery date was already far later.

Yes when all's said and done it's due to start in just over a month. Until we have more info on this alleged engine shortage it's hard to say who will be affected? Given yours is an early one (probably ordered 2 weeks before mine but to be built 6 weeks after as things go, hey that's how it works) you may not suffer that much from the engine shortage. If they can only make x engines per week and need y then the availability vs demand will get worse as tine goes on and being early you may not suffer that badly. It just depends what the issue with the engine is. Can they make any? Can they make a few? Can they make production numbers but underestimated demand?

Where is this engine shortage info coming from?

My sportsback is saying build start 13th Feb and I've had an email from CVL saying build week 07 stated by the dealer.

Wishing I had ordered folding mirrors now..

I'm not quite sure where the engine shortage information first came from, but first remember seeing something about it in the main lease thread. I'm sure I then remember someone saying that there wasn't an engine shortage, but cannot remember whereabouts I read that now.

My showing on the Audi web site as having a build date commencing 10th April and hasn't changed for the best part of a month now. I have however sent an email to fleetsaauce asking if they can speak to the supplying dealer (Audi Sheffield)And see if they can give me an update.

The problem with the Internet is that rumours can start really quickly, so keeping my fingers crossed that either the engine problem doesn't exist, or that my order is early enough in the queue for it not to affect my production date any further.

My dealer is saying mine will be built week 9 even though the yourAudi says 10th of April. I just don't know what to believe!

What are you paying with Fleetsauce? The £11,500 over two years? I went to Audi Sheffield as its the closest, but they were £4k more over the two year term.
Can you change dealers or not? I would prefer mine transported on a truck to Sheffield Audi, so i can drive it myself from there.

Can i just ask the thread, where did you get your build/order numbers from? I need mine for Audi customer service regarding delays.
Once i get that, can i also log into the 'my Audi' website?

Just for clarification, does their week system start at the beginning of the year or is it the beginning of the model year production?

I'm really not quite sure what to believe, in a way I wish hand signed up for the "your Audi" system as it just too easy to click on and check, it is wrong then the significant point in having the system in the first place, perhaps it may be more useful as the car starts going through the production process itself.
I don't really want to cancel, actually read forward to this car as although I've owned quite a few performance cars I have ever owned a performance Audi and coming from a diesel Mercedes daily driver for the last couple of years it's going to be quite a refreshing change to have a decent petrol again for the daily chores.

Oddly enough I ordered from V4B and mine IS coming from Audi Sheffield! I am probably going to go pick it up as I am near Scarborough, or they may run it through York or Hull if I ask nicely since they are all JCT600. I asked V4B for the number and they got it from the dealer. Mine is £11544 over 2 years inc flat bottomed wheel and virtual cockpit so around £11200 for a standard car. Fleet sauce were very similar in price.

As I think I said earlier in this thread (or maybe in the lease deals thread) V4B and Fleetsauce are possibly one and the same. They share the same address, etc.

Edit: at least 2 directors of V4B are also listed as Fleetsauce directors, too.

That's interesting! I knew they were both in the same town but didn't know they were basically the same

I think that figure is right anyway, I'm sure mine is £444 on 3+23. I'm sure a lot of others have posted on here and it being around £11200. At least it's only £300, I know it would be better in your pocket but you haven't been ripped off and it is only around 3 percent of the total amount you are paying or it. Not like some of the quotes I got that were £40 a month more than I went with.

If yours is a coupe then you haven't overpaid. People often post about their S5 deal but omit to advise whether it is a coupe or sportback. The latter was approximately £3/400 cheaper although if you used a broker the saving probably paid their fee. I ordered a coupe direct from Southern Audi, aka Eastbourne Audi, on 27 October and it was with the dealer before Christmas however they're more than happy to keep it until 1 March though.

Good point, mine is a sportback which was slightly cheaper!

Nah mine was a Sportback. I called around but no one could get close to £11,500 over two years. Sheffield Audi wanted £4k more than that.

You guys getting your cars in March, you get the 70 plate right? By the time i get mine be on 95 plate.

You may wanna check to see if you are actually allowed to pick your car up as I spoke with JCT600 (Audi Sheffield) and the guy I spoke to there told me that they weren't insured to have people collect their cars from there. He said it was some kind of PDI centre so I suspect that it won't be at the main dealer that we collect our cars, but at a nearby facility. My car is via Fleetsauce so it might be worth speaking to V4B to see what they say. My conversation was with JCT600 direct though and not Fleetsauce!

I'd be interested to hear how you get on? smile
