I have deliberately not been looking at the Audi tracking site for the last week, but finally decided to take a look after hearing a few people have had their dates brought forward. I'm gutted, mine is still showing April 10th which is how it's been since just before Christmas.
Hopefully it changes over the next couple of days, but not holding my breath.
Im changing the spec on my car so will be interesting to see if and how things change then. As in how long it takes for it to update with the new spec and if anything happens to the date. I have told them I arent changing IF the date will go back.

I have been resisting the urge to go and test drive either a coupe or the just available Sportback on the basis that I ordered one and I know in terms of power will be a step up from my daily driver. However with all these crazy low real world MPG figures I am now tempted to see if I can " borrow one" for an afternoon from my local dealer and drive it on the roads than I'm used to driving on and just see what MPG I return during the test drive. Once I finish nailing it off the line a few times, I probably reset the MPG and then drive it as I intend.
On a daily basis go near dual carriageways and motorways, most of my journeys are A roads and predominantly B roads with a mixture of traffic conditions.
I had a coupe for about an hour the other weekend. I didn't pay too much attention to the fuel economy, was too busy playing and having fun! I did note that it was getting about 22 mpg, and that was with a mix of stop start traffic and some 'spirited' driving in dynamic mode

Tom, I'm V4B too and I had a rush of blood to the head last weekend and thought about adding a flat bottomed steering wheel to my order, I was told that it would push back delivery so I told them to just leave it.

But then again, I think (it's been a few pages) you've been told there will be no increase due to the VED, and I've been told they don't know, so not sure what to believe.

Has anyone changed their order from Sportback to Coupe or vice versa?

I had a coupe on order and changed it to a Sportback a couple of weeks later, they (the dealer Sheffield Audi) kept the coupe on order and due to me having the number I could track it on "my Audi"; it arrived just before Christmas.

Thanks for the feedback, that's certainly sounding a bit more interesting.
I don't want to sound like I'm going about MPG, it's something that generally doesn't bother me much, it's just that these figures all sounded a bit low especially when compared to V8's

I'm thinking about changing from sportback to coupe but I placed my order through Fleetsauce (brokers) so not sure if they will be willing to do that for me. I can see on the tracker that the actual order is with Sheffield Audi so hopefully they will accommodate me but I won't hold me breath.

They have got back to me this morning and have started their inquiry with the dealer. They said when I asked before that it would push delivery back, but if they aren't supposed to be making the thing till April why should it make a difference? Surely when a car has been put on the books it can be altered pre build as long as there is a decent amount of time? "Sorry, we cant take your extra £XXX because it would mean putting another order in"

I'm sure other guys on here have changed their specs and would have mentioned it if it was going to postpone the build? There was mention of somebody adding the multi coloured LEDs to the spec (which I will possibly getting as I am contemplating the extra £500 for the light and vision pack over the VC, which adds the Matrix LEDs and the coloured LEDs).

I wonder if they try and put you off (V4B) as when all is said and done they have got their fee, and as little work as they can do between order and delivery the better on their part. And that's a way to fob the customer off (or discourage them) without looking bad. Maybe I am being cynical?

Was that from York? Did you pretend you were wanting to buy one or did you tell them you had one coming on a lease?

Does anyone know how long it takes from build start date to delivery roughly? 4 weeks?

Depends a fair bit as to how quickly it gets picked up from the port. If Audi are anything like VW it could sit at the port (over here) for anything between a few days and a month!

Chill, I totally agree, MPG it's something I usually really don't care too much about, the only reason to bring it up from my side of things was that some of the early reviews on here posted some really shocking figures, they just didn't seem to tally with 3.0 V6, hence the reason for querying.
I am lucky enough to have to have something a bit exotic sat in the garage and almost every time I take it out I end up getting asked by someone what sort of MPG it does? - my answer is that I genuinely don't know and I really don't care, it's not what I got it for - I can assure you therefore that pistonheads mentality is definitely alive and well In my householdsmile

I'm planning on running the S5 as my daily driver and doing the very least 10,000 miles a year, probably a bit more so really just trying to get an understanding of how much juice I'm going to have to pour into the tank to get my daily fix of driving something with a bit more get up and go than my current diesel daily driver.

I personally think you should try and get a go in one, or wait a bit for a few more people to get their cars (depending on when you are due yours) as two people on here (unless you have more data from somewhere else) isn't really a good sample of data given we don't know their routes or driving (I know for a fact mine will be getting a bit of lead foot in its first few weeks at least before get used to it and then try and eek mpg where applicable), and most importantly the cars may not be run in yet. The fact it does over 30 on the motorway shows it is capable of good (ish) mpg but town driving is so variable anyway depending on what towns you drive through.

I ordered from car leasing made simple in Nov, and asked them what the impact would be of adding flat bottomed steering wheel and vc to the spec. They basically told me that it would need to be a brand new order and I would essentially end up at the back of the queue. That put me off making any changes.

I agree completely. MPG It is not a deal breaker at all, if nothing else I'm just a bit curious. As you say, just a couple of people's feedback whilst useful doesn't really do a good sample. Although I've been trying to avoid it, I think a couple of hours in one is the way to go.
30 mpg on the motorway is not bad at all, my old M3 never got over 21 even on motorway cruising.

York Audi told me that 20-27 days is typical

Oh poo, mine might be stopping as it is then!. I'm sure others have had spec changes though?! Surely if you agree a deal on a car and then go back wanting to spend more money they don't delay the car for it?!
