The Scirocco R Lease Thread
Discussion
mine had a build week of the 16/01/2017 and had been built by the end of the week but now on week 2 of being in transit
spoke to the dealer and all they had was that it had left the factory 2-3 weeks was the estimate for delivery, she asked if it could be delivered straight away and for me that's even better as I have a house move I am in the middle of. So as soon as it arrives they will be giving me a call to arrange delivery.
It seemed to zoom upto this point then just sat there on the tracker overall pretty impressed with the dealer which is Inchcape Telford

before I took my deal with central UK vehicle leasing I spoke with VW who confirmed they had 200 instock for this I got my order in and then was told that all the white cars had gone just grey and black were available so that would suggest they were already in stock?
now the prices have shot back up for this deal I would guess that all the stock has gone

I ordered mine through CVL and the supplying dealer (VW Cardiff) told me today my unconfirmed build date is week commencing 13th March .. apparently moved forward from the 17th April!! Pretty p!ssed as I had access to another car for 2-3weeks after my current lease goes back on the 3rd March but now I'm going to have to mess about with buying one. Not a good experience having been told by CVL these were ringfenced and most had already been built for March delivery!
The dealer placed the order with the factory on the 5th (White DSG).

when did you put the order through to CVL?
mine was put through on the 13th of Jan and I had a build date if w/c 16th, seems like people have had different experiences with them I can't fault them upto now I have only dealt with Owen though

Mine was ordered on Jan 9th through my local VW dealer and according to the order tracker was confirmed for build this week. I checked on Tuesday and it was still scheduled to be built, but just checked this morning and it has been built, left the factory and is "In Transit"
When I ordered I was told that a load of cars had been pre-specced and ordered by VWFS and all were being built in Jan/Feb for delivery to customers in March. The dealer told me which colours were still available as DSG and I am guessing he just slotted me onto one of those pre-orders. I was told 6-8 weeks at the time of my order.
I received my order number a few days later and the the VW tracker shown it as already having a confirmed build week which is the 3rd step along the build process.
It sounds like some of the lease companies / dealers may have placed factory orders outside of those that were pre-ordered by VWFS, hence the longer lead times being quoted on here by some whilst myself and others on here and the main lease car thread are getting relatively short lead times.

I'm the same I ordered around the same date as you and when I got my tracking number it was already on Scheduled to be built this week, but unlike you mine still hasn't been built! hopefully it will move along shortly! I assume that some brokers/dealers managed to secure the same deals from fresh factory orders so thats why some of you have long lead times. When I ordered I was told that a load of cars had been pre-specced and ordered by VWFS and all were being built in Jan/Feb for delivery to customers in March. The dealer told me which colours were still available as DSG and I am guessing he just slotted me onto one of those pre-orders. I'm just annoyed that CVL were adamant it would be March delivery and I ordered on the 5th Jan so somehow I haven't got one of the allocated cars even though louds of people have ordered after mine was placed. I've had to chase them for everything including the SLI number ... p*ss poor! I should have waited a few days and ordered direct after some of you guys had posted the dealers names on the lease thread.

Mine is at the dealership..... must show some restraint in not picking it up early! March the 3rd I am going for.... Can't wait! Haven't had a car since last August when I had to sell my Cayman S to buy a house, driving the GF's 1.6TDI Golf Estate hasn't really been cutting it! So yeah... Cannot wait!

Ahh the wait must be a killer! Mine finished building today and is now in transit. My current contract ends on 23rd March so trying to decide when to get the old car collected and new delivered!I visited the dealer last week to drop off the signed paperwork / driving license copy and was told my car was currently "on the boat" and because of the time of year it would likely take 4 weeks to get to the dealer. Likely delivery was given as mid to end of March.
I've just logged into the VW order tracker and apparently my car is in the UK, the website says it normally takes 7 days to get to the dealer from this stage. Not bad for a car that was built 12 days ago!
