What happened?, anything serious?
Booked in at VW on Tuesday so will find out then. It came on, on Tuesday, the day of delivery, and had a few codes so they couldn't tell what it was, so they cleared them so will see what turns up on Tuesday. It has been a nightmare since it was delivered on Tuesday GME3twenty said:

Took an early train down south and collected the car yesterday [saturday] from Windrush VW in Slough.
Big thank you to Richard Gibson [ Fleet business development manager ] for meeting me and handing over the car.
He usually only works mon to fri but went in special on saturday on my behalf.
The drive home was superb, the car is fantastic to drive, and the metallic grey colour really suits the shape of the Scirocco.
Be patient to all those still awaiting delivery.............................. it is so worth the wait.
I had a 210 bhp Scirocco before this R ............but this is in a different league.

Just thought I'd update the thread to say I took dleivery last Wednesday and I'm loving it ... The DSG farts are quite funny tbh!
Fit and finish are very good considering the reviews say the interior is dated. I'm liking the white paint as I think it actually suits the car more in person, I didn't like the urano grey and couldn't justify the extra for indium.
Anyone else had theirs delivered?

Some decent deals sent via email monday morning on the 280 ps Scirocco

The 230 ps GTI doesn't look to bad either.

Not the crazy good deals of January this year [for the Scirocco ] but still look quite good

Had mine for about a week and im loving it. Its got great power and torque. I feel the DSG does shift up too quickly sometimes in normal mode but its not too bad. One issue I am having is the brakes, the have been squeaking since it got delivered. Fit and finish are very good considering the reviews say the interior is dated. No they were pretty prompt with mine to be honest. It was odd to start with as they paid me the dealer contribution first, so for the first month I had been paid £800 to have the car, was a nice position to be in haha!
Yeah they paid me £600 odd pounds a week after delivery then they were meant to take 3 grand 2 weeks after delivery but nothing has been taken as of yet Looks like they're paying me to drive around for 5 weeks as well I'll give VWFS a call later on and see what's going on lolEdit* Just rang VWFS and when searching via the reg they can't find anything on the car lol I said i'd call back in a week or so

It’s a bit of a beast and coming from a seat Leon diesel took me a good 6 months to start enjoying the car. I’ve had it nearly 2 years now and have signed up for another one but 3 years this time. It might be dated compared to the newer golf but you won’t find a better deal for what you get. Xenon lights , DCC, heated full leather seats and the sportier look and handling. I managed to get in on the very last ever built. All sold now. No more brand new Scirocco R’s as we know them . That’s it !

How is everyone finding the R? I have done 5000 miles in mine now, ooops! I have to say, its a great car, and a very quick car..... I just don't love it though!
I'm feeling very much the same if I'm honest. It's fast, comfy and looks great to me. I haven't really pushed it handling wise as it doesn't seem to get me wanting to do that in the way my previous two cars did (Megane R26 and MK7 Fiesta ST) and when I have it felt like it was out of it's comfort zone.
I wish the DCC was seperate to the steering as it is in the golf, I like the suspension in comfort but the steering goes ridiculously light with no feeling what so ever but in normal the steering is okay.
The DSG box is good for me as my driving is all in the city and being my first auto it's great for driving in traffic. I feel like it needs an inbetween setting though as it's gets through the gears too quickly in drive, 1-4 are fine and change up as I would but it puts you into 5-6 far too quickly and feels like the engine is bogged down. The box is probably mapped to change the same as the golf but the engine in ours reaches peek torque at 2,500RPM which it never really gets to as it's always changing up before then and the newer engine in the golf produces peak torque a lot lower. In sport it's just too much and holds onto gears for way too long so I find myself driving in D but overriding the box with the paddles quite a lot more than I'd like.
I'm REALLY tempted to get the midbox removed, I know I shouldn't in VWFS eyes but I'd get it put back on before the lease is finished and my insurance allow mods to be added anytime free of charge. The increase crackles etc when changing gear sound so much better with this done but I'm still unsure whether to do it.
