I had an unbelievable reoccurrence yesterday with the local dealership not " realising " that my car was left the day before to have a 10.000 mile service and by 17.00 hrs hadn't even been looked at . Crap organisation and guess what the same thing happened 3 years ago on my previous car . Have v w totally lost the plot or are they in self destruct mode ? Think I'll review other brands mow.

Whilst that is a pretty crappy experience from a single dealer, how does it reflect upon the entirety of VW or indeed the car itself?

Sounds like a franchise issue. I must admit my local VW dealer are spot on but as with everything in life you get good ones and bad ones.

If you haven't already let VW Customer Services know of your displeasure.

I'm more surprised they didn't say it was all done and give you the bill.

Our local dealer lied to me (in writing). VW UK said they were appalled but couldn't speak to the service manager for a month as he wouldn't take their call. Then when they managed to get to him, they sided with the dealer!

My son used to work with the 5 years ago and he said that way of buisiness wasn't going on then
He is now a head service advisor in a main Vauxhall dealership In Norfolk and reckons if that happened there heads would roll . He couldn't believe its happened to us twice.

Having seen reports of the UK boss of the VW Group giving evidence to the Transport Select Committee yesterday, it's apparently not just the dealers that lie.

I've posted by good old Royal Mail a carefully factual report on the whole matter to the general manager of the dealership so
It will be interesting to see if at any stage I receive a reply.
Will update.
