Audi A6 C6 - music from iphone

So I have had my Audi for years now, when I first got it I did some goggling to see if I could play music from my phone but I remember getting very confused with MMI versions and some AMI module and I think you had to remove the 6CD changer. needless to say I got confused and stuck with the radio. Now many years later, I'm pissed off with radio 1 and too young for radio 2. So want to look at getting music off my iphone into the cars stereo. Has anyone got any step by step guides they can link me to?
