Anyone else still check this page lol or is it just me?
Few more mods coming even though I said id stop. Getting the autohold retrofitted - ordered the kit so just waiting for it to arrive from Germany. Also managed to track down some carbon atlas inlays. Always wished I had specced them on my first S5 and then my current S5 was a cancelled order so didnt have the choice.
Hopefully ill have both sorted in the next few weeks. Really need to stop there though.
You can have Auto-Hold retrofitted? Few more mods coming even though I said id stop. Getting the autohold retrofitted - ordered the kit so just waiting for it to arrive from Germany. Wonder if this can be done on an S4. I've been looking for used one at the right price/spec but all the older cars don't have it. Weird because some have the comfort and sound pack with B&O but no Auto-Hold which it should have included. On the newer cars which are out of my price range it is standard fit.

Hi All. I see this thread is still going and I just picked up an S5 from Audi MK last monday and I'm thrilled with it! Its a stark contrast to the 420d i had before not to mention the thirst of it!
It does need some detailing as I was pretty underwhelmed with the presentation of the car at handover (by my standard). Service I got from Audi MK I thought was really good (bearing in mind this was sales phase!) There was some things they got wrong though during presentation like the foot kick to open boot, the touch sensitive door handles to lock/unlock and the wireless charging not working when in fact it does
I do have some pet hates with it but nothing I can't live with. I'm not sure if any of you share these but:
- Bolsters creases!
- B&O sounds a bit tinny compared to the Harmon Kardon in the BMW 4 series
- The subwoofer in the rear tyre well! Come on! Does that even class as a subwoofer and looks like something B&O designed!
- Knocking Seatbelt!

I would agree with all those points but your right it doesnt detract from a great car with a great sound and being a very nice place to sit. Good colour choice too - a detail will really bring the colour out. It does need some detailing as I was pretty underwhelmed with the presentation of the car at handover (by my standard). I've tried the exhaust mod and disconnected the plugs with ease. Only thing is that it throws up error codes in obdeleven and despite clearing them they come back. Is this what everyone experiences?
Not done it myself but I heard once cleared it shouldn't keep coming back. Still an issue?simonwhite2000 said:

Yes I cleared with OBD eleven and when I scan again the fault returns immediatelyI did unplug and tape the plug ends, tuck them away and cable tied them. The units I did not tape the female ends up
Could it be I have different/newer ecu software based on the fact its only 2 weeks old?

I also swapped my 420d for an S5 Sportback in Manhattan this week! Quite a contrast between the two.
The thirst is quite amazing. So far I am typically managing 35 mpg, but that is motorway cruising with a very light right foot. As soon as fail to resist the temptation it drops to sub 20!

How are you finding it compared to the BMW?The thirst is quite amazing. So far I am typically managing 35 mpg, but that is motorway cruising with a very light right foot. As soon as fail to resist the temptation it drops to sub 20!
I'm only a few days in but my first thoughts are pretty positive. My commute is about an hour and mainly motorway, in the BMW I would be aching and a bit stiff by my destination. In the Audi I feel more comfortable. I am not sure if it is the seats are better or if the extra compliance of the non-runflats are making a difference. I don't think it is the massage seats, I think they are a gimmick. I am running the car mainly in Efficiency mode. I guess I will stop watching the fuel consumption at some point! The 4 series was manual, so I also adjusting to the auto. Gear changes are a bit slow in Efficiency and a bit neck snapping in Dynamic, so I am still trying to find the best setting for Individual. It would be interesting to hear what everyone else has set.
I spent a couple of hours sat in the car on the drive Sunday working out the best way around the MMI, virtual cockpit and Carplay. One of the few criticisms I have is I haven't worked out how to use the shortcut buttons in front of the gearstick to dial a number through Carplay and it is a pain to switch Carplay on and off, so I have to use Siri to dial the number. I don't think it is as intuitive as the iDrive in the BMW, but there again that didn't have Carplay, which doesn't feel like a finished product compared to the MMI and to Apple products. The other area that I don''t feel is very well resolved is the gearlever and hill hold combination. I think it is going to take quite a long time to get used to what you can and can't do and what it does for you.
One of the next tasks is to put a sim in the slot in the glovebox and see what extra it delivers. As you may be able to tell I am a doer rather than learning by reading the manual (I did read about the gearbox and hill hold, but I am no wiser!)

Recently put mine in for two new tyres, maintenance cover on car meant no cost however they have fitted michelin pilots. The previous Hankooks were nice with limited road noise. The new tyres are horrific for noise, I mean, really bad. Has anyone else had the same issue? Pressures are all ok just the tyres are really noisy.
Other big issue of late is a constant ticking, metal noise from the left rear noticeable at low speed and when stationary. I dont notice it as badly when moving over 30 i.e. I cannot hear it. Not tried the garage yet but wondered if anyone had encountered similar as it is bloody annoying!
The drainage of water off the back window and the boot if treated with a water run off like RainX is murder as well, boot always ends up soaking inside when wet lol.
Other than the above, still loving it now after a year.

Yep is it a coupe? When its been raining and you open the boot the boot floor gets soaked. Seems a design fault to me. I still love my car though. Definitely going to try and extend the lease for another year given ive stuck a tuning box and full Milltek on it and its well specced. I wont get anything better for the money and it will avoid another deposit.

I drive in dynamic but not sport dynamic (just D dynamic). I spent a couple of hours sat in the car on the drive Sunday working out the best way around the MMI, virtual cockpit and Carplay. Pilotsport 4 or 4S? I have the 4 on mine and think they are nicer than the Hankooks I had on from the factory.Other big issue of late is a constant ticking, metal noise from the left rear noticeable at low speed and when stationary. So my car is 12 months old and at 9500 miles but no sign of a service indicator yet.
Did your cars flash up a warning or indicator? If so what mileage?
I am thinking of getting the service done asap anyway - what kind of price have you all paid?
I replied on the other thread re the miles forgot to put how much! I got a oil and inspection quote from Audi dealers at 15000 miles and 1 year and they ranged from £475 (Harrogate) to £256 ish (Hull). So it's worth shopping about.Did your cars flash up a warning or indicator? If so what mileage?
