Can you get VW's "All In" package on Golf R? Think it's on offer at the moment.

You'd still have to pay for the wear and tear stuff though.
The all-in-one plan gives 2 services, 2 years warranty, 2 MOTs & 2 year breakdown recovery for cars more than 3 years old & under 60k miles. Less than £35/month or a one-off payment.

Its not going to self combust
It will. Of course it will. The same as it will when it clicks over 100000 miles. It will turn to smoke.

Well, the limit is 100K miles (and under 6yrs old) at inception, at £37.50/mth (or £900 one-off).

They seem to do 20% discount a couple of times per year.

Yeah it's my plan to get this. I just honestly don't know what gets worn and torn in year four and five. So far I've only had to pay for tyres and was wondering what else might go.
Surely it's about the miles you do and not the age of the vehicle.

Running 20 year old cars with 100k to 200 k on the clock, and doing 20k a year, things that I take as normal.

Brakes pads and discs, tyres, oil, filters, cam belts, spark plugs, points, HT leads. Clutches. (I've only ever replaced 3 in 40 years) Some at or before the manufacturer says I should change, some when they are ready, and driving more carefully makes them last longer (but where's the fun in that)

Things that also require attention. Suspension joints, shocks, the occassional spring, exhaust systems, batteries. Bulbs. CV joints, These are usually random, but to be expected.

Things that really piss me off. Electrical faults. Coil packs, Leaks, gearbox failures, con rods snapping. Failure of water pumps, failure of cam chain tensioner. Blocking of radiators and heater matrix. Splitting of coolant bottle.
