Are A6's not selling?
Discussion
Main problem is just the car market to be honest. I've had my other car up for sale since Christmas and had no interest whatsoever (Astra Convertible). Not a single phone call. The weather hasn't helped either to be honest, but I've dropped 2 grand from the price I was originally advertising it at and still not a single bite.
Sold my A6 Avant last month. Was a last of the old shape Fianl Edition (so had all the goodies like Nav and leather) 1.9tdi and manual so easy on the pocket if a bit slow. On a 54 plate with 58,000 miles. Had plenty of calls about it that week. I let it go for £11k.
I may have let it go a bit cheap but wanted to get rid so it was priced to sell.

Interesting. I can't seem to find a decently priced 2.0tdi but there seem to be a few 2.7tdi Avants around that are within reach financially.
My current A4 averages well into the 40s, well over 50 on a good run, and the business mileage is reimbursed at a rate based on 40mpg so I make money on every mile at the moment. Just wondering whether I could get away with a 2.7 and not be out of pocket.

WE have had a a 2.0tdi Avant for since March 07 now. I got ours for £310 on a 15K P.A contract with rear park being the only option on the car, it still has a changer/nav ect!
The car has had an easy life it if realy. Its sitting at 40MPG Av since we have had it, now at 18K.
I cant say I'm that taken with the car, although I loved the 3.0TDI I drove so yes they are night and day! My business partner drives it 95% of the time. He said it was a grower and now likes it.
Looking at whats out there for the same money I just hope Audi keep the current deals running a little longer. I wouldnt think twice about going for another at around the £300 mark, and the spec if the Spe Ed cars is nice.
back to the topic in hand though cars are just not selling. Even cheap cars. I have a 93 E220 Merc and I cant get anyone to have a look at it and I'm only talking about a £1K car here! lots of people have passed comment but its all along the lines of "oh I'd like that but it will kill me at the pumps ect ect"

The value of them seems to have plummeted, a good mate of mine just bought a 2.0 TDI 07 plate S-Line with 14k on the clock for 19k.
It is immaculate and such a lovely car for the cash, especially when you consider that a 520d is going to me 5 - 8k more for the M-Sport equivalant. AND it has a nice interior by some margin........
Great cars, wouldnt mind one myself!

if one has the cash this is the time to buy these A6. Last year I was quoted £40,000 plus for an Avant 3.0 Le Mans. This summer, a new one with the same spec was £32,000. I put an order and I will enjoy it for many years.
A 2.0 is too weak for my personal use - I travel with my family in Europe from time to time.
Second hand an Audi A8 TdI would be also an ideal choice.
This is the time to make good deals with car dealership IMHO.

I have had loads of calls from companies saying they will match my car with a buyer, because they can offer finance they have a number of prospective buyers.
Do these companies really work? Will they sell the car? As a rul ethey want £70-100 up front.
Has anyone use one of them that they would recommend?

Have nothing to do with them. They pestered me when I was selling my TT I told them they could sort it out for me but I would pay them when I sold the car to their client, needless to say i never heard from them again.
