What can you tell me about it? Performance? Economy?Common problems?

Seen a really nice one, 06, quattro sport, low miles for quite a bit < £30k and it seems a heck of a car for the money...

Unfortunately I only have the 3.0TDi version but they are awesome cars. Massive torque on the 4.2TDi, excellent performance and I believe reasonable economy for such a big engine.

I have just had mine remapped and can now get nearly 50mpg on a run, up from about 41mpg. Might be woirth looking into as it has also increased bhp to about 300!

have you found one locally? I tried missus on an A8 3.0TDiq but she isnt interested. the 4.2 is out of my range but i tried outrunning one in the coupe quattro and got thrashed. very swift car.

It's in Edinburgh bud. I think I saw you the other day by the way, do you stay in the Rowans?

yep, that be me. right on the road... look out front for my new classic Audi next week!

A8 is a great car, light too, one of my pals has an S8 which has a daft amount of extras. size is what put my missus off it. it is a big old car, but doesnt drive big imho. I dont know much about the 4.2tdi engine at all as its not one that features much in the VAG lineup, the 3.0tdi is a well rounded unit. And the V10tdi is incredibly wafty fasty... understated luxury, A8's have that Ronin quality too smile

Nice one! A UR Quattro? I'll stop and say hello next time

I've never driven an A8 before but I remember following an S8 on Skye in my old VXt and it was pretty damn pokey on the straight bits... Sounded amazing from behind as he gunned it.

Had my 3.0TDI 3 months now. Best all round car i have had. Remaped to 280ish BHP. Superb mid range grunt, and 40 mpg average. Build quality is top notch.

The A8 has a ChippedUK jobbie, very impressed good mix of extra power and brilliant economy.

Had an A6 with the same engine and that was Superchipped, smaller increase in economy but better power.

At the moment I prefer the economy especially the amount of miles that I cover.

Hyperchips
tel 0800 458 1543, based Manchester i think. £280 i think.
Mobile service, they came to me, plugged in laptop and 30 mins later job done.
As mentioned on my previous post, i have been very impressed. Only downside, car smokes a little when booted. I believe this is the same with all remaps.

Anyone tried My Bluefin on a 3.0tdi Audi, A8 or otherwise?

Is that the Superchips thing?

It is indeed. Apparently it does not stop the ECU counter increasing whereas non-DIY maps (incl Superchips itself) do.
