I'm waiting for the right spec 3.2 but had a chance to drive an S3 manual this week as the sales guy said to give it a go, its a nice car.

He is getting a 3.2 in so will give it a test drive next week sometime, can't wait!

I found the A3 3.2s cheaper to buy at the moment. My 3.2 was on average 2k cheaper than a 2.0T one, coupled with a chip to bring it up to the same 250hp, call it 2400 cheaper.

I dont do that many miles, so it would take me ages to make up the 2400 difference.

Then there is the V6 noise! Get an induction kit on there, and you are laughing.

this car has appeared after looking for a longtime!

http://usedcars.audi.co.uk/carview.aspx?id=6005128...

but hasn't got BOSE or Bluetooth, which I was after on a car

I spoke to the dealer he said they can add bluetooth for £500 and will be fully integrated with the car as a factory option but maybe I could get this done elsewhere?

What would be a sensible bid for this as its over my budget of 15K but could stretch this a bit

the dealer kept on telling me that this is a cheap car...

TBH considering the miles I don't think you will be able to haggle a massive ammount off. Maybe £500-£1000 max, but not a lot. Rememember theres currently a shortage of used stock and dealers are working at very small margins. With just 7,448 miles its only had about 8 months worth of use, and would be barely run in, basicly nearly new. The OU56 prefix suggets that it would have been an ex-press car.

Tried the 2.0 in the GTi and the rocco, and it sounds hurl compared to the 3.2. Would go for the V6 any day of the week.

In my 3.2 I have a Bluetooth Nokia kit which is very good and integrates with the stereo and DIS etc which was considerably cheaper than £500 and (I believe) more 'future proof' as for the Bose, I really don't think it's that much better than the standard kit and certainly not as good as a decent aftermarket setup.

Just my 2p......

If you like the car, I'd just buy it. It looks to me like a nice genuine low mileage example, and as I said in the current market car dealers are on very thin margins (look at V8Mates reports). The price on the A3 (OU56) is pretty much bang on CAP Retail for that model.

Not many good 3.2s being advertised because of the low prices/no sale at all.

However, every now and then the odd one or two pop up; well specced, not to bad mileage and good condition. I see a couple of 3 door DSGs on autotrader well worth the money.

There are also some nice R32s at 16-17k that could easily be negotiated.

2.0T every day of the week. Its a much better all-round engine, the only thing it lacks is the sound of that V6.
+1 definately,

but why are they called a sportback? what is sporty about a mini estate? surely a 3dr should be called something sporty and the mini estate be called a 5dr?
