little prob..

when accelerating.. or just going at a constant speed, car will 'judder' and then loose power (ie not accelerate).. then 2-5 seconds later it is fine.. sometimes the ESP light comes on and stays on ...which means traction control off??

the engine light came on once.. but hasnt been back on since??

i'm going to get it booked in to the local specialists... but any idea's what it could be? cheers for any help

Could be any mixture of things but will most likely be either the Coil Packs, MAF or Boost leak.

Id lean towards the MAF.

as above really, the MAF & coil packs are clear favories (the coil packs can "pop" up a bit which will cause a misfire - check they are pushed down properly - these could cause the engine check light to come on.

As for the esp light - it can be triggered by any number of things so I'd suggest the garage scan the car's ecu for fault codes to get to exactly what's going on there.

MAF - just replaced one on a mates Mk 4 Golf GTi. Exact same symptons, exact same engine, problem fixed.

Cheap and pretty easy.
