Hi guys,

A friend has had the worst luck with his used A4 S-line (06 plate) he bought a week ago. First he was caught in a hit-n-run (although his fault) wher a car collided into the right side of his car (near the rear door and wheel). Then whilst still depressed about the above he hit a bollard on his way to an Audi repair centre frownbanghead

Here's the damage with photos here

Collision
Rear-right door dented from bottom left (wheel-end) to middle of the door. Adjacent wheel arch (rear panel?) dented. Alloy has faint scratches but no more. No other visible damage to tyre or alloy, but will probably need re-aligning.
- See photos 1 to 3

Bollard
Front-left wheel arch dented/pushed in - may need to replace this panel. No impact to wheel or door.
- See photos 4 to 8

Judging from the above do you think this is just panel damage which he can take to a garage to push out, repair and paint? Possible structural damage? Is there anything else he should think about?

The repair centre have quoted him a ridiculous price and he wants to avoid going through insurance if it's a case of panel reapirs which he may be able to get done cheaply. Through insurance he'll presumably have to pay £700 excess because they were 2 seperate incidents, and files as two claims - not worth tarnishing his name for future quotes if it won't costs much more for seperate repairs.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Needs a Front wing, sill cover and possibly repair to front door. And rear door and running strip, wheel arch repair. plus paint. I'd say £2500 - £3000.

Nothing structural there though.

Door could possibly be repaired, wing probably not, and the labour to panel beat them to shape could be more than the part anyway.

Drive it around until the insurance renews, renew with minimum ES and protected NCD, then make a claim, found my car all beaten up some one must have hit it while I was parked.

Good bodyshop at trade money you're looking at roughly £150 to paint a panel including any minor repairs. I'd agree with diagnosis above, that wing isn't saveable and if anything else is there'll be a good few hours of shaping involved!

Whereabouts are you? Anywhere near me?
