new seats mk5 golf
Discussion
Another thing to remember is that some of the seats on the MKV have airbags installed which can make changeover more complex.
I guess it all depends on what features your seats currently have and what seats your going to install. Assuming all the wiring is their for the new features you will need VAG.COM to enable / disable

Not all MK5 Golfs have airbags in the seats although the majority do.
My R32 has the optional Recaro seats and thse do not have airbags.
How much would a dealer charge? How long is a piece of string?
Prices vary so much dealer to dealer it's hard to say. Best idea is to get a local indy to help you out.

Now i am thinking of putting in new seats in my MK5 golf, few questions really if anyone can help. is it costly to install them? my car currently does not beep if the seatbelt is not worn due to it not having that feature, with the new seats can this be turned on?
why the hell would you want that annoying feature?[quote=VAG1]yes im weird lol. so your r32 does not have side airbags? isnt that a major part of the safety system?[/quote
The optional Recaros are hard backed and don'y have side airbags. It's a compromise I accepted based on I sit in the seat everyday and the side airbag may never be needed. You pays our money you takes your choice.

As I say you pays your money you takes your chance. IMO the Recaros look the business and are very comfortable, heated and leather so I can live without an airbag in the seat. I'm sure the curtain airbags will do OK.
Oh and the other sacrifice I had to make with these seats was not to have the seat belt warning beep :-)
Good luck whatever you choose to do with your seats
