Having just taking a kicking on the sale of my last cat 997 gt3
i'm looking for peoples opinion on buying a audi tt 2.0 s-tronic
I'm looking to buy a low mileage 1 owner car and wondered what kit the car should have ,magnetic ,bose, lthr, and how the car rides, service intervalds etc.
Will i pick one up for £15,000,i know the markets tough as my bruised wallet from the porsche is still recovering.
I know the adverts on Pistonheads say £19 -£21K,but advertising is one thing selling is another.
cheers
David

However, the market for used cars (and from professional experience well specified Audis) is extremely strong right now and demand high. I wouldn't count on a discount unless the car you're looking at is over priced compared to similar models for sale.

Go for a decent colour (grey, black, blue, white), full leather and sensible mileage - having a few extras (usual suspects, Bose, Xenons, Heated seats, mag ride) is always a bonus and the DVD navigation is particularly nice.

Not really tbh. Genearlly with a used car you pay pretty close to the asking price (especially in times like today were the margins are so thin), as long as its not over book value.

EDIT: Also the fact your a cash buyer dosent mean you can get a discount either. Those days are over, its the finacne deals garages want to do as they generate them the most profit.

Well put mr va1o - with only one small thing to add; book prices are a guide and not gospel. Autotrader and a model/age/spec/mileage comparison are a far better guide than Glasses or CAP (which are often just plain wrong).
