Just wondering how loud are they with a standard exhaust? Are they like Lamborghini/Ferrari scream or are they like the 911, quite unless you are hammering it?

Also has anyone fitted an after market exhaust to theirs? If so what a Tubi etc. and did it make a big difference?

Thanks

Not like either really, I would describe it more AMG-esque, in the car itself with windows up the car is quite quiet, hence I drive with window open a lot smile Neighbours tell me its LOUD outside car (fortunately neighbour works for Mercedes so likes V8 burble), friends tell me they know when I am arriving before they see the car. Having driven a 430 across Europe last year, and had a lot of cabin noise at high speed its kind of a nice mix. Even managed to participate on a conference call in the car a few days ago, with no background noise complaints. Really finds its voice around 5500 rpm, which is rather addictive. Milltek do a great aftermarket system, but I can't say I really feel the need right now.

It's fairly loud when started from cold, but at normal tick over I think its very quiet. At 6k revs plus is when it really kicks in. Certainly isn't going to cause any noise testing problems on track days.

I noticed that as well, it runs boomy and then after 5 mins or so, its almost like there is a valve that closes and it returns to a gentle grumble, i'm wondering if it is a valve if there is a "hack" akin to the one you can do on the Porsche Sports Exhaust to leave it open.

My neighbour has an R8 and I'm pretty impressed by how boomy/burbly they are, nicer sounding than 911 but not quite in the raspy fezza catergory
