A6 Avant Le Mans
Discussion
I have an 07 3.0tdi Le Mans Saloon.
In my opinion its a very good car with no major horror stories. Make sure that the software on the bluetooth phone has been upgraded and that all of the MMI features are working correctly. My car also required a replacement cd unit/interface as there was a known issue. It was sorted under warranty, so again make sure this is done before warranty expires.
Service interval is quite long, so its worth making sure that the correct oil has been used and as Audi can be fussy about warranty make sure that services have been carried out at the right time. Mine is roughly 18000 miles between services. Make sure all 4 wheels have the same type of tyre on them, it is a requirement of the quattro system (according to audi) that all 4 tyres are the same tread pattern etc. You will find that you usually have to replace all 4 tyres together and 19 inch 255/35 ectra load tyres are not the cheapest.
Personally I think that the 3.0 is much better than the 2.7 (there are other recent threads on here), it is very quick when it comes to overtaking, and at a motorway cruise gets over 40mpg. It can easily be remapped if you want even more power. I am not sure if the 2.7 is quattro, but the 3.0 cars are all quattro. This is great on wet motorways as the car feels very safe and tracks much better in standing water then 2wd versions, it also handles well for a big heavy car, but the 5 series BMW handles better.
My verdict. I love mine and will probably buy another soonish. recently depreciation has been a bh but that is down to the economy rather than the car.

The 2.7 can be either. However, if you go for the auto, the fwd will be multitronic and the quattro will have the tip. I have an A4 2.0T petrol with multitronic - I think that gearbox is a dog. The dealer said that the torque of the 2.7 was much better suited to that box but he was trying to sell me a 2.7 Le Mans at the time...
