02 Polo TDI Dash Pod...... Help

Hey wonder if any of you can offer some advice?

I just bought a 2002 Polo 1.9 TDI sport.

It has developed a problem with the dash pod. The problem is that the pod keeps turning off, all needles go to the off position the illumination lites go out, all the warning lights come on, and then after a few seconds its goes back to normal, except it resets all the info on the dash (mpg, clock, trip etc) though its does not do anything to the odometer reading.

Other than this the car runs great, doesnt miss a beat nor does any other part of the car seem effected by this?

It happens when slowing down, accelerating, cruising and when stationary, and can happen within 2 miles or within 200 miles, there is no pattern??

Anyone any ideas????

New dashpod mate which wont be cheap im afraid. You may be able to get it repaired though.

Cheers mate, it was in at VW today and they said the same thing.

dash pod = £178 + VAT and £56 to fit, which tbh aint to bad.

Will post up when I make sure its fixed for future reference.
