Just learned how to upload pics so thought I would share one of my Scirocco Storm as its almost finished. Are they ever finished? Only 45,000 miles from new!

I had a MKII, did all sorts to it TSR engine that sort of thing... Nearly bought a MKI storm (in brown) many years ago, but the only one I saw was a little too much work for me.

Love these cars though, would still get one today if I had room to keep it as a hobby car.

Oh wow! My father had a 1981 W reg GLi back in the day. He bought it when it was 6 months old and I was the coolest kid at school being dropped off in it. It had a 5 speed box and factory roof - utter luxury. To think that the other coupe choices of the day were a hideous Capri or Opel Manta....

I assume they're not standard wheels.

Get some smaller wheels and it will look much better imo.

Other than that, nice. I used to have a MK1 golf of that era and remember going to a scrappy and seeing a Scirocco there, was great as it mean't I could get some stuff for my Golf biggrin

Don't I know it! Thanks for all the kind words, its taken four years to find all the parts to retore to this level, many many parts are just no longer available.

The mods are all bolt on only so could be easily returned to standard. The wheels are BBS from a Mk.3 convertible hence four stud. They also use 7" wide as opposed to the usual 6.5" so fill the arches nicely. Just couldn't run standard wheels, they're 13"!!!

Full length Webasto roof next to get rid of the horrible 80's glass roof!

Lovely car. I had a mark II 1.8GT and i loved it to bits. Gave it to a mate after about 7 or 8 years of service, but a few years later the engine blew so the car is now no more.

Agree with earlier poster - get some original looking wheels on it, it will look even nicer smile

car looks great, but the wheels need to go. Get some 15" bbs rs/rm's on there, you wont regret it ;-)
