High milage 2.0l tdi

Belts should have been changed already - as I recall they should be done on either 60 or 80k miles.
Watch for clutch issues, though - I had a Passat with that lump - the clutch gave up on around 110k miles. Total bill from a VW dealer, including new DMF was around £1k. Fortunately it was billed to Leaseplan
Engine was fine - the only other issue I know of is to check it has had the diesel lifter pump under the rear seat (that's where it is on a Passat, anyway) replaced. They usually give up the ghost from 60k miles onwards - bringing the car to a shuddering halt.
Mine gave up at 0.8 leptons in the right hand lane of a dual carriageway. Not nice.
