Good Independent VW Garage in London? for MK5 Golf cambelt

Hi All,

can anyone recommend a good independent VW garage in the London area?

Ideally North, East or West London (Not familiar with South London, sorry).

I've hit 4yrs on my MK5 Golf TDI and it now needs a cambelt and water pump change. I don't fancy paying a franchise dealer £500+ for this if I can help it.

Any recommendations appreciated.

Agree with RAC - but they're not cheap.
I use Harrow Service Centre for all our family cars - never had a problem and they're not stupidly expensive.

I'll give the list from Glassman a call.

Northampton might be a bit far, esp since this type of work would mostly be done during M-F 9-5.

And I have family in west london where I can have a nice cup of tea and wait whilst the work is completed.

You may want to speak to VW as I believe at the moment they will match any independent garage as long as the independent is using genuine VAG parts.

had the cambelt and service done by them on my A3 yesterday and I couldn't find anywhere else in London that were that well priced

Try VW Monaco in South Kensington - family owned main dealer, and the only people I trusted with my 170k mile Mk3 GTI because they know their stuff inside out.
