A4 1.8T convertible, 2004, 45k, 5 speed manual.

My wife was driving the car at low speed, it made 'a noise' now it has no drive.
You can put it in gear without putting your foot on the clutch.
The clutch has been a bit juddery for quite a while.

Clutch? DMF? Gearbox problem?

Presumably whatever it is its gonna be effin expensive weeping

She's waiting for recovery now.

OK well above description isn't quite correct - Wifey was instinctively putting her foot on the clutch.

To cut a long story short the nearside outer CV joint has gone - sudden unexpected failure - there has been no knocking on full lock, the car has only done 46k.
