I Have been milling over the classifieds as I regularly do and have noticed that Mk1 TTs can now be had for not a lot of cash.

These two in particular caught my attention...

I'm generally of the opinion that Mk1 TTs are for posers, battymen (I seem to remember it was awarded 'gay car of the year' a short while after it's release?) and girls so have forbidden myself from prospective ownership.

Is it just me who thinks like this or is the Mk1 Audi TT an acceptable, well priced, modern 'sporty' car for a straight man in his 20's?

I used to think that thay were 'gay cars for gays' but then my mate went and bought a bright Yellow 225 Quattro Coupe and I have to say my perceptions have changed.

It's a decent car, his is remapped and it goes like stink, in reality it handles better than 90% of cars on the road and it's very well built.

He's a policeman/race engineer so not exactly the affeminate type, I still think that soft tops are a bit of a posers car but then I think all convertibles are for 'gays' and 'posers'.

make sure it's a 225 Coupe' and it'll be fine.

What is it with people and TT's MX5's etc, all this posers, hairdressers, gayer's. The best way to show you're a man, is to buy the car that you want for your needs.
What sort of man are you if you buy a fking car that other people like?

Make sure that you are not too tall. When we tried one I could not see out of the windows, so went for the MKII instead.

As time goes by I'm actually starting to like this - and the Z3 - more and more.

And now I almost feel that I can post that without using one of these paperbag

You're an idiot.

You're clearly a troll who has driven bugger all cars and just repeats what the biggest bloke in the pub says.

Naff off and let the adults have a serious discussion.

Let's be a little bit PH about this:

It's a well built, tuneable, small coupe.

Let's talk about MX5s:

It's a well built, tuneable, small roadster.

Go figure.

I just get very annoyed when people who have clearly never driven a car come-in spouting 'pub' level rubbish.
