Due to a change in circumstances I am seriously toying with the idea of an RS6 Avant (02-04) model. I'm used to running TVR's so am used to big bills.

What I would like to know is how much will an RS6 cost to run doing about 10k a yesr.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Cheers

Having just bought a 04 rs6 avant all i can say is the following

expect no more that 16mpg

a set of tyres with that mileage - i got a good deal and got all four for 1170 fitted

a set of brakes will sting about 900 quid

great car but for that mileage i would say not unless you are willing to spend a fortune

best to talk to the guys over on rs246 net for more detail on running costs

Wow, thats some expenditure, my old boss used to run an RS6 on an '53 plate and did almost 25k miles a year.

More money than sense that fella clearly.

Agree with the above. Having run a Cerb and RS6 Plus, I would say that the RS6 was more expensive to run than my Cerb. Everytime the Audi went for a service it was £750+ and the tyres lasted me only about 10-12k,(circ £1200)main dealer charges about £1300 for disk/s pads all round fitted. BEWARE the dreaded DRC if you can you get a car with it replaced with coilovers then you will save £££'s and multiple visits to your dealer. If you lucky enough to find a car with an Audi warranty then all the better, but at £1200 annually the warranty isn't cheap but is worth while IMO.

The RS6 is an awesome car but I think the issues that come with it namely DRC and weak gearbox are poor for a 60k car.

Hope you find a good one, (I'd keep the Sag and sell a body part if possible!)

What are the differences, in laymans terms, between the Avant and the Avant Plus?

Cheers
