Leon wiper fault
Discussion
Friend has an '03 Leon with a fault in the wipers.
Basically, with the switch in the off position, they randomly operate.
Sometimes frequently, and sometimes not at all.
I know I should point him in the direction of a VAG dealer, or an auto-electrician.
Just wondered if anyone could suggest what might be the cause ?

Prossibly worn/dirty/oxidized contacts in the wiper column switch. It should be easily removed (by taking off steering wheel) and replaced with a new one, probably costs around £20-30 from someone like Eurocarparts. You could take it off, dismantle and clean up but it's not worth the effort and won't solve the problem long term.
