10,000 miles in my RS4 - Costs
Discussion
Very interesting, I picked up my 57 S6 in feb 09 and some of the costs are comparable, I've got a service coming up and will do a similar (but not as well put together) as this overview.....I also get around 280-300 miles to a tank (80 litres) and in general its fantastic....
Service booked next month....
Yes its been autobahn'd on the stretch from the ring to Koblenz....;->

Yes there are known DRC issues but i think you have to rememebr that you always hear about the cases when things go wrong and not when nothing does,

these people also tend to shout the loudest.
Most people on here speak as they find. I agree that some posters write with a little too much emotion however, that works both ways! At the end of the day if it wasn't for the owners who shouted, Audi would not have extended the warranty period to 5 years on DRC components.Thorny said:
At the end of the day the RS4 is a mass produced automobile from an incredibly well established and reliable manufacturer, yes things do go wrong but statistically these are rare.
Personally, I ignore the marketing hype about reliability etc from motor manufacturers.Edited by David911RSR on Tuesday 29th September 19:33
I can only speak from personal experiecne, I have owned the previous RS6 (which was also reported as having issues with DRC) the previous RS4 (buckled wheel rims) and the current RS4 as well as 2 S3s. I have never had any problems with any of them. In terms of hype from motor manufacturers regarding reliability, it may be a cliche but the german cars I have owned, BMW/Audi/Porsche, have never gone wrong and have been tangibly better quality than many other marques I have owned.
