S4 dsg vs manual
Discussion
Yeah I must have got a lucky break somewhere. However you will have 2010 my vehicle and sepang blue is some colour. I saw it on a r8 recently.
Will be curious as to what the gap is between build week and delivery. A mate of mine got his a5 within 6 days of build week. You could be feeling that super charger shove (and pull give quattro and all that) before the end of the month...

OK chaps, a quick update/observations, just to keep you two panting like dawgs
Engine now done 1300 miles so starting to free up. On a 75 mile trip to London yesterday, reseting the averages as I hit the motorway, engaging the radar cruise control (which actually meant an average speed on the M25 of about 65mph) the average mpg at one point flashed up with the magic numbers...30mpg. It didnt stay there very long, and motorway only, light footed, managed an average of 28mpg. Way better than the round town driving
My 20mile commute to work, which involves 10 miles of motorway, the rest A roads and town, Im averaging 24mpg. Still, we didnt buy these cars for the economy did we
Being fairly anti auto in the past, Im almost ashamed to say that the car drives so well in auto (generally, it does seem a bit grumpy when cold/first thing in the morning and also Ive noticed in lots of stop start 1st/2nd gear shunting traffic, like central London yesterday) that I rarely feel the need to use the paddles. An out and out auto gearbox is better for town work IMO.
Stick the car in Dynamic mode and its pretty damn awesome. The throttle response can be quite shocking/neck snapping at times and the suspension and steering both feel very 'sports car'. Plop it back into auto or comfort and you have a supreme fast cruiser VERY easy to get into licence losing territory.
Have started to push the car in the corners/roundabouts a bit more now and the car feels much better/almost RWD compared to my previous Audis (and my DTM was significantly better than the standard Quattros).
Things Im not so fond of:
I find that the radar cruise control is quite aggressive if say someone pulls out into your lane (anyone know if the brake lights come on when it slows down like this? Dont want someone ramming me up the chuff...again!)
Probably the most annoying thing, and Ive deactivated it now, is the 'braking guard'. Basically (defo if accelerating, not sure if on a constant throttle) if you get to close to the car in front (this is separate to the cruise control) it sticks the brakes on. I see the sense in that to a point, but, imagine the scenario, A road, behind a slow moving car/van etc, short straight appears, no cars comming the other way, accelrate up behind vehicle, close gap then pull out last minute (Im not talking silly close) to reduce TED, pull half out and WHAM, on come the brakes Damn annoying.
All in all Im loving it at the moment. Despite the supposedly understated looks, Im getting lots of admiring glances (even from the ladies, sadly Im sure its the car, not me) and appreciative nods (not one coffebean sign yet).
Im sure I heard the Cerb sobbing in the garage the other night due to lack of use.

Ah sweet torture this is. Good to know 30mpg is not elusive but as said unlikely to matter when you are trying to get some fun from the beast.
I noticed the cruise control issue on my demonstrator and decided to go only for the basic version, though I did find the red lights around the speedometer quite cool.
Iapped up every bit of that shared experience! Now come on audi get me my car!
