Just thought I'd add my S4 into the mix as it were. I've had mine around 6 weeks now and done around 1k miles.

Starting to have a play in the corners occasionally and whatnot but it's quite a change from the mini cooper I've been driving for the last few years. I went manual in the end because I'm boring and conservative like that. I tried the S-tronic and enjoyed it well enough, but in the end I preferred the manual. Gearbox is still somewhat notchy but I remember the mini 'box took ages to really smooth out so I am sure it'll improve.

The only "annoying" feature at the moment is that the car always defaults to "auto" on the drive select when you leave the car frown Oh and the nav's evil robotic voice.

There are some piccies here:

We are off to Germany in a couple of weeks so I'll see what the car is like on cruise smile

It's actually Deep Sea Blue - which means it's as hard to keep clean as black and shows scratches even more easily frown But it looks awesome for the 2-3 minutes it stays clean!

Spec:

Full Drive Select and Sports Diff
HD Nav/AMI/Cruise/DAB
Heated Super Sports Seats/Nappa Leather
Comfort Pack (Auto dimming and activating everything, memory seats/mirrors)/Advanced Key (keyless entry)
Adaptive Lights/Main Beam Assist (a.k.a. the "stop the wife blinding people" setting)
Storage Pack
Audi Quattro Bear smile

I've probably missed something.

That the 100 years of Audi one? Not sure my wife would be quite so excited by that (whereas I reckon you can never have too much HD space).

Very nice - except the dammed 3G MMI system only counts to 4000 so most of the drive is wasted if you use it in the car! On the other hand it's a nice external portable drive smile

I've got hold of an old 60Gb iPod which I am using in mine. I originally bought a small HD like the Audi one only to discover Audi's weird limits. The iPod doesn't have them as it does the playing/processing itself.

Oh that and the really annoying fact that the system displays files on an SD card in one way (using the metadata) but then does it a different way if you import them to the jukebox (by filename) so things get all mixed up.

I get the feeling the 3G MMI is very much 0.9beta

Woah! You're losing me Capn!

Yeah, the 100 year jobby. Make a good paperweight if nothing else hehe

The mp3s I stuck on today are in a different format and with wierd file names on the HD, but I put that down to me being a numpty and just dragging and dropping. Going to have another crack at it tomorrow.

To be fair, I cocked them up with the old iPod I was using (all this ipod stuff is new to me) so Im looking at my skills before blaming the HD paperbag

Reading all this is nothing short of torture. Guys waxing over mmi file menu systems when I have not even got the darn car. Now Worsy is about to pip me at the post. My car dispatches on Monday. No fixed eta as of today, I think I am going to get smoked and have to drool over yet more pictures. Feels like car porn. I need the real think soon.. Will keep you posted.

very nice car Troc. Colour you chose was my initial choice. I ordered sprint blue in the end as it was unique to the S range and felt rather special for it. Notice you have a left hand drive ...?
