I've just recently bought an 03 golf V6 4Motion, which has a standard OEM 'Gamma' stereo unit with a cassette deck!!!!) with a facia mounted 6CD changer. I'm looking for advice to upgrade to something which I can connect to an ipod and can also take a bluetooth handsfree phone connector.

I presume there are good systems out there to allow connection, and suggestions of good solutions?
Or are we better replacing the unit? can this easily be done?

Cheers.

Do you want to keep the OE look?

Adding to the standard stereo can be done but going aftermarket (Alpine do a nice range with built in ipod connectivity and Parrot bluetooth) wil be loads cheaper. Can always but the standard kit back when you sell it.

There's also the Parrot RKi8400 which allows you to store the iPod inside it.

It was launched a couple of weeks ago

I was kind of hoping for a cheaper solution really, I see that there are various plug in leads for the back of the existing units and possibly a connection of a bluetooth unit into the cd changer port, anyone done this? is it easy to get the OEM unit out?
