VW Passat TDI coolant problem
Discussion
Yesterday i picked up a Passat TDI 130. i drove away from the dealer and was halfway home when the coolant warning on the trip computer came on and the guage shot round right past the red. i wacked up the heaters to full and slowed right down to 50mph which made no difference for a couple of minutes then the temp slowly came down to normal.
Took my old fella out to show him and it was fine for a few minutes then again the temp guage shot up to max.
Has anyone any idea what this could be? is it actually overheating? (i checked under the bonnet and nothing was bubbling away and it seemed to have plenty of coolant) or could it be a thermostat or sensor.
Needless to say i'm straight on the phone to the dealer this morning, but if anyone could shed any light on this i'd much appreciate it.
Thanks chaps.
