Thought the late manual cars had a longer 6th gear? Ether way 6th is too short!

Anyone have any experience of removing silencers etc as a quick way to get some more aural pleasure during normal driving as opposed to only when the foot is down? smile

Just checking into this thread - bought ours as a daily driver in September. It's a 2010 car, low mileage, seems to have all the extras, still getting used to it and haven't driven it a great deal (wife's using it every day so rarely get the chance to drive it). Finding this thread very helpful.

Happy New Year to you all.

During the holidays I managed to take the B8 S-Tronic S4 Avant on its first long trip from Glasgow-London-Glasgow.

Averaged 29.5mpg on both legs with cruise set at 77. Not too bad!
However, for the 5 days we were in London in start-stop I managed 17.8mpg!

Clearly she loves the motorway! lol

Anyways, really enjoyed the drive - especially in the Supersport seats! and it behaved well - only point of note was when the oil light came on and asked for 1L to be added which I did at the next service station.

Lesson learned - I always now carry 1L of oil in the boot for whenever she cries again...

That's 3500miles before it asked for a litre of oil which I believe is normal.

Mine is coming up to the 3500mile mark, so I will note the exact mileage and come back on when the light does come on.

FWIW, usually only had to put in less than 1L between services (~10K) to keep the level at max..

Little update from me:

Since having the clutch and flywheel replaced, one of the midrange B&O speakers (dash mounted) has started to rattle. Truly shocked at the replacement price from Audi ( the parts guy was as well) only £23!

Huh, that's quite delayed, had mine done in the US in November.

Just a change in the software; apparently there were scenarios where it wouldn't deploy.

My new ride ...

Had it a month now and very pleased. Love the sound when you put your foot down to overtake. tongue out

Only downside is the fuel it drinks.

I see regular oil top ups are likely, what oil should I get please?
