Well the service itself is 1.9 hours but efficiency on these should be pretty good. Add to that checking it in, getting it on the ramp and cleaning it afterwards...
If the dealer can't do it in two hours, then they shouldn't offer a 'guaranteed two hour' service then. If they know they can't they are deliberately misleading customers.

Mine was only £227? But it was just the oil change.

Maybe the guarantee to do 1.9 hours of work in less than 2 hours?

If they promised you you'd be back on the road in 2 hours then that's pretty annoying.

x4 new Michelin Pilot Super Sports fitted onto our newly refurbished summer wheels - well I say newly refurbished, they were done in December and I've been trying to find stock of tyres pretty much ever since!

This thread's been a bit pic-light of late smile

Hi all,

Market for S4's at the entry end seems rather scarce, might have found a car but no Nav/MMI (but does have B&O which I wanted and its auto which I did really want too). It's top of my budget, not sure if I should hold out for one with Nav/MMI, how much of an issue is that would you say? Seems a few don't have it.

Thanks

Oh and no drive select either, or diff etc, but the B&O, sports seats and 19" wheels were desired options for me. Annoying as now I've sold my car and have the cash ready there are such few examples around at my price point, when 1-2 months ago there were a handful.

Hold out for what you want - not that long till the next plate change and a few private adverts will start popping up. Most people will accept that the nav isn't the last word in sophistication but it's an acre of black plastic on the centre console without it!

Don't discount the tech pack low aka DVD nav, but the tech pack high HDD nav is handy for the jukebox and SD card slots.

What is generally accepted is that non-nav cars are a much harder sell as 'everyone' wants it. If you're not fussed and intend to keep till it's worthless then less of an issue. It does knock a chunk off the values but if it's a choice between a poor condition high miler with nav and a better car without then I'd live without the nav

I think Tech pack low has AMI - and you can certainly stick a USB thumb drive into that.

Yeah, both have AMI so you can plug an old ipod or portable HDD in as well. I tend to find we keep my wife's old 8GB ipod charged up in the AMI so it's always charged if you want it, but mainly play music off a 32GB SD card and the jukebox

Thanks guys, the ones I've seen have the acres of black plastic, so no MMI I guess.

The search goes on.....hopefully I can get a temp car to tide me over so I don;t get too desperate. I'm actually looking for a 335i for a bit less money but if I can squeeze into an S4 I'd rather go with that.

335i as a Coupe are around in decent numbers, depending on which of the 3 box options you want! As a saloon they're much harder to find and you can't spec the DCT box. They do go well but we were weighing them up against the S4/5 and chose to go that route smile

There's a couple of saloon S4s near me at the moment, but both are up at £22.5k.

Has to be 4/5 door and those are mega rare, must have sensible miles and sat nav.

Looking at £16-17k spend really so entry level for S4. I was going to spend upto £14k on a 07-08 335i and thought for 2-3k more I could get the S4 which is newer and (seems) more reliable/less issues. My mate has one and I do like then, just I appreciate I'm at the bottom of the market looking at 70-80k 09 cars. (wouldnt fancy touching a 100k+ example).

So it looks like I've ordered one of the last S4s available as I tried to have a play on the website, and they aren't available. I've been told it should turn up in August, still waiting on a firm date.

Guys! I finally have an S4, absolutely love it, even though I'd driven one before it was only a lap of the Ring so was concentrating more on not crashing than the car itself, that one was mapped and very strong but I feel my standard one is pretty strong too, v smooth.

It's got the sports seats, carbon trim, AMI, Sat nav, DIS, bluetooth phone prep etc, unsure exactly what as yet - how do I know if it's got a diff/ADS? I assume I'd have the damper modes on the console, which I don't. Or under 'car' button?

It's on the 18" standard wheels, so can I ask what the 2 optional 19" wheels are officially called by Audi as I may look to change them when the tyres need changing.

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/9/9... I quite like those, they look small in that photo but I've seen a few with those on and I really like them. What wheel style does everyone on here like? Strictly Audi ones of course. My mates S4 has the 7 spoke style ones and they are pretty nice too.

This thread has been great and I'm delighted to be in one at last, was worth waiting for the right spec. smile

ADS: Either this, or a 'drive select' button.

If no ADS, then no sports diff. It's in the Car menus too, I think.

Ah yes checked a photo I have of the dash (as at work now) and no ADS for me, which is ok, still seems to ride well. smile
Thanks for such a clear reply.

Its an 09 car, mileage in the 70's but full dealer history, it's black.

Will read the manual tonight to figure out the AMI stuff. I saw 'jukebox' in the menus so need to figure that out too, and what sort of device I can connect to the car, and if it has the SD slots etc.

Welcome to the fold. Yes they are immense cars. Lots of people go for the classic RS 19" 7 double spoke wheels. Do consider the Rotor blade spoke too, they do look good on Black cars. Keep your 18" for winter tyres, and you will be the king of the winter roads, speaking from my own experience. You should be able to plug in any Apple products, make sure you have the right cable/ adaptor.

Do also consider remapping it. They are absolutely leathal. you can pretty much match with any Stock RS 4 or even 911.

Enjoy the car. Just watch your license and make the most of the low petrol price.

Congrats on purchase smile I rather like the 'peelers' you picture too - my favourite 19" rim for the S4. They're more correctly known as '5 segment spoke' but if you download the brochures from Audi UK you can find the descriptions of the style available. Don't buy A/S5 wheels as the offset is different and they stick out too far on an S4.

I'm not a fan of the Black Edition aka Rotor wheels - they somehow always look like they need spacers on them!

ETA - if you have the jukebox feature then you have tech pack high so AMI in the glovebox and HDD navigation. Also has x2 SD card slots which will happily take 32GB cards

Potato peelers for me too; I don't dislike Rotors but the former suit the car better to my eye.
