Thanks all!

Will try and avoid the remap, my thinking is if I keep the services with Audi then *if* something very bad happened one day then I'd be more likely to get some 'good will' help from audi if the car wasn't flagging up as mapped. I read they can detect this from the ECU and also from 'over torque' logs on the gearbox, although I'm not sure if that's DSG. Also not sure if the clutch has been done so I didn't want to remap for £500 and kill off the clutch.

I assume the map is just a flashed ECU, why is the revo one so expensive? To cover all their R&D on it I guess? I wonder what the difference is between theirs and a cheaper map for example.
My mates is mapped as said and it's very quick, pretty much keeps anything honest, we had 300kkph 4 up on the autobarn.

I can confirm that peelers do indeed look the business on an Avant! (I initially (pre-purchase) preferred Rotors, but now prefer (my) peelers).

Random, but I was wondering last night (when driving) whether the B8 S4 engine is in any other VAG car (even if it in different state of tune), particularly a smaller car. I'm not really too knowledgable on the whole VAG range, but I can imagine in a smaller/lighter car, the engine would be (even more) superb (if it would fit!). I assumed it must be used elsewhere?

Pretty sure it's in the A6 3.0 TFSI (not classifed as an S model) but only makes 296bhp due to more restrictive exhaust. You can search on the classifieds here by Audi then engine size 3.0 and superchaged, leave everything else blank. The A6 is RARE in that spec, saw one SE model at a dealer for £15k though, bargain!
Shame they aren't using it in the new RS3 or something.

Porsche Macan S, SQ5 (US version - no diseasel for them), A6, A7 and of course S5.

None of them smaller, really.

And A8, Q5, Q7.

SQ5 is just a higher tune than the Q5.

It's an important engine for Audi in the US. It and the 2.0TFSI probably account for 95% of sales.

Don't they do an rsq5? Or is that just for the U.S. stuff I can find on the net says 408bhp, doubt it would weigh less than an S4.

On the subject of wheels, Peelers,Avant,Sprint blue. cloud9

I didn't know they made a all-road S4 wink

Hmm you guys are not helping this situation.... where would one shop for Audi wheels, ebay? I imagine new ones from Audi will be £1500+ and the tyres too.

Apart from the drive home not had any time with the car yet, but I did check and it's got the SD slots so that's perfect for me - what is the max size card they can take? (edit, sorry just read above - 32gb).

First blacvk car, and it's free of swirl marks so thinking I may need to invest in some cleaning products and start cleaning it myself rather than the local hand car wash.

I must be the only person who likes the original 18" wheels smile

Oh and you can keep all your silly resale silvers and shouty sprint blues, Deep Sea Blue is where it's at.

Subtle.

Smart.

Also, bloody hard to keep clean frown

There's a few German ebay shops that trade in used OEM rims - usually with winter tyres fitted, but if you start browsing around ebay using generic search terms for Audi wheels you'll find some at sensible prices. Quality looks decent, usually, too.

S4 Saloon and Avant withdrawn from ordering

10 June 2015

Production is full for these models

AU0561-15

The S4 Saloon and Avant models, including all Black Edition derivatives, have been withdrawn from ordering. Production is full for both models.

Existing orders can only be amended by the sales office and only minor changes are possible. These orders cannot be cancelled.

Customer-tagged orders in the system currently without a build week will be built where possible. Please fulfil any new customer demand from untagged pipeline orders with a build week.

Demonstrator, showroom and stock orders (order types 05, 06 and 07) without a build week have been deleted.
And in other news, mine has finally arrived in the UK.

Will check out wheels, I'd rather a genuine set though I think.

Couple of questions please:

1- Bugs, my car is now caked in bugs, never had this issue before but this car is a little quicker than my last car. Not done any high speed runs though just motorway at say 70-85 plus the odd little foot down blast up to those speeds. The windscreen is truly caked in them after 500 miles of driving. Is this common? Wipes didn't seem much help. (have bought some bug spray)

2- Parking sensors, I thought these were standard but mine doesn't seem to kick in when I reverse, can't see any sensors on the bumper either from a quick look.

3 - Tailpipes are looking somewhat aged, what's the best way to fix that, can you replace the tips, or have them re-chromed?

Sorry to bombard this thread with newbie questions.

Only use screenwash intended for fan jet washers, or you risk them clogging up. I buy 4 bottles at a time from TPS and mix 1 bottle screenwash with 4 water (dilution ratios are under a flap on the bottle) and it works well.

Parking sensors were optional - £350 for rears only and about £1k for front and rear with visual display. Have to say I don't think I've seen one without at least rears, but yours sounds a bit odd on spec anyway based on the nav! Maybe not a UK market car originally?

You can try isopropyl alcohol or wheel cleaner like Bilberry on the exhaust tips to clean them up - they do soot up quite quickly. If that doesn't work they can be replaced, I believe.

Adrian, top man - thank you.

It was a Welsh car with the 2 previous owners so has always been UK. Made it just didn't have that option, the Nav seems ok though? It has all the controls, HDD jukebox and SD slots, MMI, AMI with CD changer, B&O and bluetooth phone connection, cruise etc it's just not got the ADS. It's got a few interior options like black and red leather super sports seats, the carbon trim, I guess I can check the options from the cars books - apparently some codes appear at the front of one of them and those can be put into a reader online.

Ignore me - I'm getting confused with the other recent purchase on the site with the mid level nav I didn't think you could spec on an S4!

Yeah, spec codes can be checked, although not exhaustive. If you post a pic of the inside of your service book, minus the VIN, I can run them through a decoder for you. Some stuff doesn't feature in the codes as there's not enough space in the table now!
